T/C Mayo Hegar Needle Holder Driver 5.5" (14cm) with Tungsten Carbide Cross Serrated Inserts (HTI BRAND)

I am a medical student and have previously purchased a suture kit that contained a needle driver to practice. However, the other suture kit contained a poor quality needle driver that is not of OR quality and difficult to practice with. This needle driver is of similar quality to what we use in the OR and makes for better practice. Grasps the needle perfectly, as well as locks and unlocks with ease. Definitely recommend to other med students!

Good instrument overall with a well build hinge and nice ratcheting system. However, after a few weeks of usage the golden color has begun to wear down to a brushed silver. This should, especially this early, not occur. Thus, this is okay for basic usage but is certainty not the highest quality instrument.

I'm a hand surgeon and I use nice needle drivers regularly for work. I bought this one for use in sewing household repairs and they are actually quite good. I would be happy using them to do basic surgery even in the operating room. They have a great traction inset that prevent rotation. They will of course shred your needle up but usually when we operate we don't worry about roughing up the needle as they get thrown immediately out.

Excellent product. I’m using it as a grooming tool for my dog.

Surgical grade...for real. I’ve purchased a bunch that just rusted and we’re not good. This is the one!

Great little needle drivers and the carbide inserts are just the thing to make gripping positive and secure. Would have been five stars except for cosmetic issues at the tips. Grinding and fitting of the carbide inserts looks a little less than wonderful. Doesn't hurt the function, but to me a five star review means nothing less than excellence.

Great for pushing or driving needles in thick fabric. Save wear and tear on fingers. Surgeons use these.
