Sprayed mulch 3 months ago still looks great, easy to put put down , will buy again

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I hate seeing the mulch fade late in the summer or early fall. This was super easy to apply, just put the recommended amount in my pump sprayer and the mulch looks brand new. I will say it is key to test your sprayer and spray pattern in an area free of plants or concrete because it will die those areas. I got a little on my concrete sidewalk but it faded quickly. Now I just spray some on and save all that money on mulch!

I used this product to get ready for an upcoming gathering. I did not have time to rematch, and all of my mulch looked terribly faded from last year. I sprayed on this product, and it really looks great. It poured rain the day of our gathering, and the color held better than I was expecting. 1) It is no way to apply this product without making a mess. You will get this stuff all over you and in some places that you did not intend. Luckily it washed off easily with water and a brush. 2). If you are applying paint to a perishable item, you can not expect this to maintain its color for a whole year. However I am one month in, and I am still very pleased with the product.

I’m about two years past due for new mulch, because I’m considering just putting river rocks in my mulch beds. Because I wanted my mulch to look nice for Halloween, I sprayed it with this one week prior. Two weeks and two rainstorms later, my mulch still looks new. I’m not sure how it will look in the spring, but right now, I am very pleased with it. Get a 1 gallon garden sprayer, fill it with water and dump in 8 ounces of dye. Shake it up and you’re ready to go. Even if you have to do it a couple times during a season, it’s way easier and less expensive than getting new mulch. Keep 2‘ x 2‘ piece of cardboard or something similar with you to block off anything you don’t want sprayed. Also, wet down anything you do not want stained. If you get the dye on anything that is wet, it rinses off very easily with a garden hose. Tighten up your spray pattern when you want to get close to your house or sidewalk and just spray it up against the cardboard, you’re using to block those areas. It’s not complicated.

I did not find it shiny. Black color lasts for 12 to 18 months which is enough. Color fades away slowly.

I used 6oz per 1 gallon yesterday for this area around 5pm by 7:30pm it was pouring down rain I expected this stuff to wash off, but it doesn’t look like it even affected it! (The weather forecast said it wasn’t going to rain till 1am so I thought it would have more time to dry in the end it didn’t matter.) Once I run out I will be buying more.
