Nice kit of parts. Great for small to medium size projects. Yes, you will need a swaging tool to do it right. Piers and hammers don't work

I made some homemade dock bars to keep my boat from touch the dock. I ran bungee cord through aluminum tubing and used caps and hooks on the ends to tie into the boat and dock. Worked great.

Worked very well for what I needed. Seems to be of good quality and should last. However, this is one of the hardest items to find that I have ever bought! First off it didn't show up in the search the first couple times until I got the words just right. Once finding the product, it was even more difficult to find the correct size. Most of these come in metric, (which I don't do). Standard imperial sizes usually hit between two of the metric sizes making it very hard to pair up. I was using 3/32 cable and this just happens to be one of those sizes. Some show it to be a 2 mm while others show it to be 2.2 mm. I have no idea how much the .2 changes the measurement, nor do I have any desire to know. So, this is the main reason I ordered the multi pack in hopes of getting the right size. It was even harder trying to figure out which crimp tool to buy since the 2 and 2.2 are on the border line of the tools... In the end, everything worked out. The 5th star would have been for making is easier to figure out what I needed. I DO recommend this product, but do your own research as to what size you need.

I need to make a wire rope ross brace for a long gate at our church garden ministry. The gate is so long that it sags down at the latch side. A nice wire rope cable with a turnbuckle in the middle will allow me to support the long gate well, and to make it much easier to open and close. The double latch system at the top and bottom of the gate make it difficult to coordinate opening and closing the gate as the weight of the gate makes it sg down and not align with the two drop latches at the top and bottom of the gate. A nice angled cable from the hinge side of the gate to the bottom of the latch side of the gate will allow me to adjust the turnbuckle in the angled cable to support the weight of the gate well, and to keep the latch pins coordinated at the top and bottom of the long gate to make it much easier to open and close. One thing I don't like about this set is that it is metric. The description gives the crimp and thimble sizes in English sizes, but the actual pieces are sized in metric, and that leaves some amount of intrepretation as to what size cable should be crimped into the different sized metric sleeves. Somewhat deceptive in the description and I will have to select the nearest sized metric sleeve to fit my 1/8" galvanized cable.

This fastener kit is a general purpose multi use kit. It made my dog leash repairs a snap with no issues. I Must add, Make sure you have the proper crimping tool to properly make the clamp size that you are using. Most hand held crimpers will not work on the larger size crimp fittings... FYI
