Fjallraven Kanken No. 2 Black 1 One Size

Excellent! Love this bag! It fits my 14in MacBook Pro with no problem and it’s the perfect size not too bulky and not super small. It’s a perfect everyday work bag.

It is a way nicer material than the original Kanken and the all black goes with just about everything, definitely worth the price because i’ve had it for almost half a year and it still looks brand new, super durable and easy to clean!

overview the backpack comes in smaller than i thought (but i’ve never owned a kanken before this so that’s just me), and it’s good for daily commutes and whenever you need to carry just a few things— although i heavily suggest buying the laptop version of this, because it comes with a dedicated section for that. the backpack has nice leather detailing and rugged metal buckles and buttons, but you need to buy the extra padding just in case you’re carrying something heavy (this backpack isn’t really made for that so not an issue). the backpack is stylish and seems unisex to wear. inside, there’s a nice leather surrounding a personal name tag and some kanken slogan, with the g1000 seat pad. now i’m probably stupid for not knowing this til recently, but the seat pad is quite literally just a seat pad and i thought that it was padding for your back, but the seat pad is well made. there are no internal organization pockets— something that the laptop version does have. on the front, there is a simple pouch for quicker access items, but lacking organization, and finally two water bottle pockets that aren’t stretchy. now one thing that irks me is the two leather carrying straps: it’s kind of an extra step to have to buckle them back to together in order to open the main compartment. now i know that this is part of the design behind kanken but you get used to it. and some of the zippers are kind of difficult to open and use if you get it in the wrong spot. the fabric and materials are top tier and seem very durable (plus, the g1000 fabric is weather resistant but not actually waterproof without waxing the fabric), but it does attract dog hair which isn’t much of an issue since lint rollers, and the zippers are decent quality. i tried using the backpack for high school, but the laptop version is just inherently superior since having more organization is a lot better than two total pockets, but it doesn’t make this a bad backpack for the occasional trip or to bring along a jacket and a pair of headphones. in conclusion, this is a good backpack if you’re planning to bring a few items, and although not recommended for school, (look for the laptop 15’ version) this makes a great pack for daily travels, made of durable, weatherproof, and quality materials

This is a great backpack. Seems small but fits an amazing amount of stuff. It was great for a recent plane trip but I could see it as an everyday carry bag.

Really wanted a solid backpack for work to fit my laptop, one that looked a bit more high-end and classic, but this didn’t work out for me unfortunately. The straps are not padded which is a downside for me, and I don’t love the top handles although I’m aware this is signature to the bag. The biggest downside for me personally was that it attracted too much of my dog’s hair so just returned it immediately. Ended up getting a lululemon nylon backpack which I feel is a better value and more stylish for a similar price. I’d like to try this bag in other colors in a smaller size for the summer season, but it just wasn’t cut out for my current needs.

Been homeless and without a vehicle, acting as my own attorney for about a month now and before that using it as a diaper bag for two kids. I have been in chemically induced menopause for going on six months now in freezing temps and suffer from chronic pain so I bought it hoping to reduce some issues I was having with back and shoulder pain carrying heavy loads. I have carried massive amounts of paperwork, books and groceries miles in inclement weather ranging from rain to sleet to snow. I have also used the seat pad at wet bus stops. The seams have not loosened anywhere and the contents have never gotten damp. My life has been hell but my bag has been a little angel on my back. 10/10 recommend.

I’m yet to know if the item is damaged or not I am amazed that it was not stolen due to this packaging. It was not boxed and in clear plastic absolutely ridiculous and negligent for such an expensive piece. It may not be Louis Vuitton, but it is definitely not cheap And I am very disappointed and upset with this discovery.

Just to give a little background info; I have loved Fjällräven forever, and have had their bags, clothes and jackets. Being Scandinavian, growing up in the 80’s everybody had Kånken bags. Me too, it looks great and it is just really functional, as a kid I would use it for my school books and the bag lasted forever, my whole family had them and they would last at least 5-6 years easily, my mum’s longer as she was more careful. My last bag was packed away and I didn't use it for about 10 years and then decided to buy a new one 2 years ago as they were suddenly everywhere and I missed having my own. Joy! Well, for a while. Initially I did think the material had gotten a bit flimsy, thinner and the bag felt different form my old ones. I was right, the stitching came undone in several places and holes appeared in the corner, even though I am much more careful now a days than when I was a kid and stuffed it full of hardback books. I would say it was in good condition for maybe 6-8 months, then it started falling apart. It also seemed to get drenched every time it rained, I never remembered my childhood bags being wet and my school books damaged, but with my new bag the water went straight through soaking all the content so I think they might have started using cheaper materials to keep the prices low. I then discovered the Kånken No. 2, made from G1000 matreial, which I have had Fjällräven trousers in and know is waterproof so I thought I would give it a go as my last Kånken needed stitching up every 2 weeks and I was fed up having to cover it in plastic bags when cycling in the rain. I couldn’t be happier with the purchase. The bag is wonderful, the material feels much better quality, it seems bigger and is compared to my old original Kånken, but it says in the description it shouldn’t be, so maybe it is just because the material is softer, the front pocket seems bigger and the seat is covered in G1000 so it is slightly thicker than the one in the original Kånken bag. It is also waterproof and can be ‘re-waterproofed’ with the Greenland Wax bar which I find very handy, I used to use the wax bar for my trousers and it works really well either iron it on or use a hairdryer to get the wax absorbed by the material. The straps are thicker and the buckles made from metal (they are plastic on the original Kånken), the leather bits add a sense of style and endurance and the bag just seems like I remember the old Kånken: good looking and dependable! It is definitely worth investing the extra money to get the Kånken No. 2 if you are after a better-quality back pack.

C'est un vrai sac Fjallraven, pas d'arnaque comme disent certains commentaires (commandé chez le vendeur Amazon). Il est un peu moins cher que sur le site Fjallraven mais il est exactement le même: résistant à l'eau, assise en G-1000 water resistant, lanière en cuir et esthétiquement l'effet full black est vraiment ultra clean. Ca rend le sac à dos à la base casual vraiment passe partout: école, travail, voyage etc il passe crème dans toutes les circonstances !! Un peu cher par rapport à un Kanken normal mais il en vaut la peine si vous voulez l'effet clean qu'apporte le full black. Pour ce qui est de la livraison elle s'est faite en 2 jours (Prime) malgré un soucis, qu'Amazon à réglé en me faisant une commande de remplacement sans aucuns frais supplémentaire.
