Exactly what I needed!
Every time I get a new computer, I pull the HDD out of the old one and put it in an enclosure, not just for security reasons, but to use for additional storage. If you look at the included picture, it illustrates that I still have a 3.5" HDD (that I think I'll transferred and retire) that can be compared to this wonderful enclosure for a recent SSD of the same capacity. Admittedly, it did not work when I first plugged it in; got some weird error messages. But after rebooting the new laptop, it hasn't had any issues recognizing and accessing the former laptop's SSD. I only wish I had bought it sooner. Getting the new computer to transfer from the old, while different from the pains of the past, was just as painful. It's MUCH better to just yank the SSD into and enclosure, and then choose your files to transfer (assuming you don't need ancient apps and clients like I had). After that, you have an awesome storage or backup device that fits in a pocket or purse rather than luggage

External SAS
Works great. Just like it says - this is for SAS to USB 3.0. to be used as an external drive.

Decent device, but may block access to other ports when in use.
Nice, economical device. However, its large frontal area may obscure adjacent ports on your device. In my case it partially covered the only other USB-A port on my laptop.

Not compatible with SAS drives
Not compatible with SAS drives. This enclosure only works with SATA drives. I tried to use 3 known-good working SAS drives, they were not recognized in this enclosure.

It works for both Sata and Sas but is not compatible with Linux smartmon tools

Lo compre hace mas de un año, ya que tenia dos discos SAS, pero no contaba con una controladora ni cableado para usarlos como unidades externas, por lo que decidí comprar este dispositivo, hasta la fecha sigue funcionando, al menos en Windows 10 reconoce los discos automáticamente, desconozco el comportamiento en otros sistemas operativos.
