Introduction to Programming Using Python 1st Edition

I am happy I bought this printed book. The electronic book (which I also purchased for a college class) has some nice features, but some of the layout in the online e-book is disorganized and difficult to interpret. The e-book publishers need to go back and compare a printed copy with what they are offering students online. They don't match exactly. I wish this book was printed on standard 8.5" x 11" paper and that the type was bigger. I bought the looseleaf version and put it in a standard 3-ring binder, where it's fine, but the picky side of me wants it to fit into a binder like "normal" paper. Also, the type is too small for me. Sometimes I'd have to stack two pairs of reading glasses on my nose to read the text. Overall, super happy I bought the printed book!

Even though the seller said the condition was used, good, i received it as nearly new, with no damage at all to the book. In addition, i like how the seller left a handwriting appreciation at the end of the label! 10/10

I think this book is perfect for beginners. One of the reasons I liked this book very much is that is has a lot of exercises of varying difficulty (40 to 50+ exercises for each chapter). Among the books I have for python, this one is the best. I am trying to learn by myself and now I realize that I was unable to learn much from other books is that they don't have adequate exercises for a self learner like me. I would highly recommend this book to people who are trying to learn python as their first programming language. I gave this book four stars instead of five is because of its overpricing. In my opinion this book shouldn't cost about 100 bucks. The reason I feel the book is overpriced is because the author put all the exercises he wrote for his Java book, here. Other than that I'm fully satisfied with this book.

When I first Took Python the book they were using was Gaddis, but I had to drop the class. I re-enrolled in the class and found out they changed the textbook to Daniel Liang’s Python. I struggled through the material because it did not explain anything. I had to go back to the Gaddis book to get some understanding of the material, but the Gaddis book did not cover everything in the Liang’s book. I bought the ebook from Amazon. I thought I was struggling from not having a physical book, but it was because I was not understanding the material. Example: I thought the UML diagram was apart of the programming because there was no distinction between the programming code and the UML diagram. I was so confused and I had to drop the class, again. If a class is using any of Liang’s book, I will definitely not enroll in the class. The Gaddis book was the better book and I wish my college would have continued using it. A professor also said that the Gaddis book was the better book.

If you are new to python this book may not be the right book. However, if you have some experiences I would recommend it. It had tons of practice questions. Also, you can find the solutions for even numbers and on the their website.

Still working my way through this for class, but I've found that things are explained well enough that the class itself is just a good review of the text book.It's easy to understand, and the exercises and examples used are great for getting a grasp on the Python language.

This is one of the best books of python that I read so far.Everything is cover so well and it is really money worth.it give you an access code for videos and they are as good as the book.I strongly recommended so I also by the java book and is as good as this one

there is a few errata... look on books companion webpage.. also some methods are not best for industry standards... i.e. eval() for user input or def main()...
