Everyone should own this book. You should buy a copy of it now. A book everyone should read and that applies to business, relationships, and daily life. This book has a permanent home on my desk because I open it almost every day. This book applies to every conversation, especially the difficult ones and made me a better communicator nearly immediately in work and life (even though I had considered myself a good one prior) Favorite Takeaway: This book transformed the way I answer questions. Too often we try to wordsmith or sugar coat things to not upset others. After reading this book I realized that at work it was best to answer any employee's question authentically, directly and with respect. You may not like the answer, but I will share the reality and truth.

Great book not only for individuals learning to improve their conflict resolution skills but it’s also perfect for a team building book club. Our production team of 14 people are currently reading this on a weekly basis together and discussing our learnings. I’ve read this book before (earlier editions) but this latest edition has a nice flow with more in-depth on the content. Highly recommend this book and re-reading it often!

This book was fine but not my most favorite read. The examples were ok and it was not a waste of time to read. Just the main points of the essence of the conversations have been repeated by other authors. Maybe if I would of read this one first I would of found it more life changing.

One of the best parts is that the value of the book isn’t limited to its pages. Early in my reading, I discovered their website and the free webinars they offer, which I began exploring alongside the book. This combination made the learning feel even more impactful, helping me build the skills in real time. A highly recommended read for anyone who wants to communicate more effectively, handle difficult conversations with more confidence, and strengthen both personal and professional relationships.

I've read many books on communication over the past 15 yrs. Many of these books say the same thing over and over and are so shallow that you can find their content on dozens of blogs and online posts for free. This one...is different. Yes, it's a how-to, but instead of worksheets or affirmations, it describes what a conversation really is and how to have the best one possible. I feel the instruction in this book, while focusing on tough conversations, also applies just as easily to daily conversations. These aren't tricks-they're frameworks. I'm still reading it, but really look forward to how this will improve my conversations and relationships all over my life.

Excellent book! Everyone should read this!

I think this is one of the most beneficial books anyone could read to improve ANY relationship. It's taking me about 9 months to read because it was a real brain workout for me. I really had to sit with the ideas after each chapter, but am so happy I did it. Even after the first couple of chapters I felt like I was communicating better in personal and work relationships!

I genuinely don’t understand how Crucial Conversations became a bestseller. It’s a repetitive, substance-starved read that promises insight but delivers little more than corporate fluff stretched across far too many pages. Page after page, it rehashes the same vague concepts without ever offering anything you can truly digest or apply in a meaningful way.
