Great bit of kit and very easy to use

The plug connector option is handy, but check whether your car only powers the sockets when the engine is running (in which case you will have to use the clips to measure the battery when not being charged). Build quality of unit appears to be good and simple to use with "traffic lights" indicators.

Something cheap and easy to check your 12/24 volt battery’s. I’ve just used it for a 12v battery but you can use it for 24. The crocodile clips are cheap and nasty but work. All in all for the money it’s ok but I don’t think it would be robust for a professional.

My motorhome has been standing idle over the last few months and I wanted an indication of the battery output and the alternator output. This gave me a very clear reading of the state of both items , was very easy to use and easy to read. I tried it using the cigarette lighter plug from inside the cab and also attached to the battery under the bonnet and both worked fine. Means I can easily carry out the checks with confidence out of the weather when I need to. Arrived on time, well packed and in good condition

When I received this it said the voltage was reversed when I plugged it into the cars "cigar lighter" power supply, or power take off as its now called. As I was sure the car would not work if the car battery was wrongly fitted, I checked the wiring and is was wired incorrectly inside the 12 V DC male plug provided with the tester. I got hold of another cigar lighter power take off plug from a local spares shop and correctly wired it for the tester and then it worked. By the way I am a professional electrical engineer, equivalent to an American PE, so am used to trouble shooting new kit.

This works perfectly if you connect straight to the battery. But the cigarette lighter plug has the polarity reversed .... check it before using

Purchased this item to test the battery and alternator in my 66 mustang. It is very easy to use. Worked just fine. In addition we also tested in another vehicle that we new the battery and alternator were good. For the price you can't go wrong. There are not instructions included with the unit but you don't need any. All you do is connect to the battery without starting the engine. It give you the voltage for the battery. You then start the engine and it then gives you the voltage for the alternator.
