I am a big fan of our LinkTap now. I was afraid the little Wi-Fi module which is included won't be able to create a connection. There are about 8m and 3/4 walls in-between but the connection is perfect and I get a notification each time the tap is opened and closed with the amount of water running through it. Very happy with this product. To have the same with Gardena, I'd have to pay double. I have no long-term review yet...let's see how it holds up in the heat in the middle east.

I purchased 2 timers and 1 gateway. Connection is straightforward, I did it in 5 mins. The quality of the materials used and the structure of the device proves itself. Don’t compare this one with cheap alternatives. Although I agree of the other comments regarding mobile app interface, I found it more than enough. The device and app are having so many features hence I wouldn’t expect a simpler UI. I have tried 3 alternatives, and at the end I found the device I can install and forget.

I've tried other water timers, got disappointed, wasted time, and returned those. I came across LinkTap and was both amazed and surprised with the amount and quality of its documentation, diagrams, and samples how the network, the app, and capabilities work. Some wireless and bluetooth products just don't work typically asking you to separate a 2.4GHz band on your wifi which is old nowadays. Then they use buggy 3rd party apps. These cheaper ones don't even have instructions you can understand. I had no luck with those what should have been an easy setup. With LinkTap, the setup was a breeze. I was concerned about wiring the hub indoors on my network and wirelessly connect to the outdoor timer using Zigbee. I know about the tech but hard to tell indoor-outdoor signal strength until you deploy it. However, its already good to have a sepate wireless for its own. Great that I have spare Ethernet in a room that's in the middle of my front and backyard. This is way more stable. The app is very easy and worked instantly on my Samsung Galaxy. It also skipped watering when we had rain in the forecast. Now that I know this thing really works, I am buying a second timer!

I am so happy with my purchase. Great quality, easily installed and set up, and a great app for control. The gateway provides great range and all 3 of my timers stay connected. I did have to put an extension lead on the power supply to get the gateway up high on my desk near the router. This improved the signal reach considerably. Now looking at connecting and controlling other zones around my house and in my garden. Well done in providing a great product. I am confident that the long-term reliability will be there for me.

Really easy to install ! I’ve replaced my water faucet for one with a double outlet. I’m using a Homey device for all the domotica rules, besides the LinkTap app.

This is an excellent product. Using it for a few weeks now and can’t fault it. It’s easy to setup and install. Comes with a base unit that wires into your network and it pairs with one or more battery powered water timer control devices that attaches to your tap. It uses a private Zigbee network instead of wifi (like Philips Hue lights) so is very efficient on battery on the tap unit. It has a very flexible app that once you get used to it can be configured with whatever schedule want including links to the weather forecast to avoid watering on rainy days. Best feature for me is that it links with Home Assistant which allows you to control and monitor water usage along with all your other smart devices. The smart control of the tap is flawless with no leaks. It’s not the cheapest device but it is quality and better to pay a little more for quality than less for sub standard devices that only partially work. I use to supply water to my irrigation system for my new flower beds and plan to get second tap put in and will be getting a second unit. Highly recommend
