They run on AAAs. 'Nuff said.
Historically in my family, flashlights never had enough battery power. They all use to run on D batteries, which were expensive and seemed to run out of juice by the time you walked from one end of the house to the other. My moth also loves to buy those bargain battery packs that combine AAs and AAAs, but nothing ever uses AAAs, so we have vats of the things. This is a tiny, cheap flashlight, but it makes use of those otherwise useless AAAs, and with the LED, it is both beautifully bright and lasts a LONG time on the AAAs. Best. Flashlight. Ever.

Can't beat the price
Hard to beat the price on these. I bought a dozen for a big campout. You can hardly buy the batteries alone at this price, so it's hard to complain. They don't throw much light and are cheaply made. Duh. They do make light and are cheaper than dirt, if that's what you need.

It's okay
It's a good flashlight, shines well from 5 ft(to the back of my closet). Would probably shine farther. I don't know how durable it's going to be. It feels really light. The one I received was RED! I like the color, but it's not what I expected. So, be aware that the color of your product may differ. The beam isn't a just a circle it's more like a circle with a ring around it. Similar to a planetary ring. I prefer one clear beam but it's not that big of a deal. For around $6 a piece it might be possible to get a couple better flashlights so this product is okay but not quite 5 stars.

Better to light a candle, OK, a flashlight in this case and these are good ones to light
During the winter, and it is winter here in the Northeast, we sometimes have power outages. With that in mind we like to have flashlights available around the house. You just never know. These flashlights use LEDs. They are light (not heavy) and bright. Because they use LEDs the batteries have a long life. The bulbs are unlikely to fail if the units are dropped or banged.I think they are a good value for the price A basic item that does its job well for a good price.

How the mighty have fallen
This review is intended to help you benefit from my family’s quest for a bulk buy to equip our house with a bunch of flashlights. Our quest: a small ‘pocket size’ and a ‘big and bright’. So we did a flashlight ‘shoot out’.Results? For a small flashlight, nothing delivers the bang for the buck of the $4 “Ultrafire® Cree 7W 300LM Mini LED One Mode Flashlight”. For the ‘big and bright’ Duracell Durabeam Ultra 1000 Lumens (sold for $20 at Costco). What else did we try:Ultrafire® Cree beat out (1) LE Adjustable Focus CREE LED Flashlight, Super Bright (runner up for its ‘in hand’ feel - slightly bigger, ever so slightly brighter. (2) Mini Cree Led Flashlight Torch Adjustable Focus Light Lamp is identical to Ultrafire at a higher price tag, (3) Coast HP1 Focusing LED Flashlight, nice build quality, but nothing to recommend over Ultrafire.Duracell Durabeam makes the MagLite ST3D016 3-D Cell LED Flashlight seem like a complete pretender (all that weight and heft, not much brighter than the little $4 ultrafire – although many will point to battery life). If you want something plastic lightweight and mid-range in size (e.g. you won’t misplace it), either the Dorcy 41-4752 CyberLight Weather Resistant LED Flashlight or the Dorcy 41-2510 Floating Waterproof LED Flashlight with Carabineer Clip are serviceable. The former is brighter; the latter has a better design (integrated carabineer clip). We tried two Rayovacs. They fall into the category of ‘how depressing’ – I remember this from my childhood! You simply can’t believe how dim the Rayovac Value Bright 9-Lumen 1D flashlight is – useless comes to mind. And ye olde standby, the Rayovac Value Bright 75 Lumen Floating Lantern with 6V Battery – lots of heft, not a lot of light.

These flashlights are good enough for our needs, at a great price!
These flashlights are good enough for our needs, and the price is great! We just wanted a few extra flashlights around the house in case the power goes out. The light is a white-bright, not a yellow bright. They are not "super bright" or anything, but it is plenty of light for normal tasks. They get the job done.

Cheaply Made And One Was Defective.
One of the flashlights is very dim. I tried different fresh batteries with the same results. The are cheaply made yet worth the low price if they work.I'm sending it back & buying a more expensive but better quality.

Good reliable flashlights by RAYOVAC
Of course we had already lost power when I ordered this two pack of RAYOVAC flashlights, which come with the proper sized D batteries. You can never have enough flashlights! These are good to keep in our bedrooms so we don't make a misstep as darkness falls.I like to read during power outages, and these flashlights are just right for perching on one of your shoulders as you turn the pages of your book, too. These RAYOVACS are good, dependable flashlights for dark days and nights! If you don't need to keep them in your two bedrooms, but one in your bedroom and one in the kitchen!
