PROS -I _think_ it’s working (I really need to be more scientific about this and treat only one side of my body, but I’m a bit desperate) CONS -quite expensive NOTES -I suffer from a number of skin conditions, and I’ve had docs suggest slathering myself with various types of dandruff shampoo (the ones that attack demodex). They keep things down, but nothing I’ve used has “cured” me (I can’t stop treatment without the inflammation returning). This product gives me about the same efficacy, I’m looking forward to extended treatment and seeing if that gets rid of my symptoms once and for all. MY STAR RATINGS: 1* substandard, mostly cons 2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros 3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros 4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons 5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros

So... I don't have any symptoms of demodex. I didn't even know it existed before I was offered this set from Ungex, but looking into what they were scared me so bad I ended up requesting it as a preventive measure. The cleanser smells like tea tree oil, but it didn't cause me any irritation, nor did it cause notable dryness or tightness. I have read that the ingredients are effective against demodex, both in terms of treatment and prevention. I plan to include these in my skincare routine on an intermittent basis to avoid any breakouts and to stretch the quantity that you receive. I'm docking a star because of how crazy expensive these are, I'm not sure, based on the ingredients, why they should cost quite so much. Maybe it was research costs or something, but that's a wild amount to pay for any skincare product, especially an over the counter one, and I indulge in my fair share of luxury skincare. The spray is interesting; the instructions don't make it clear if it's intended to be used on your skin or only on objects that might have demodex living on them. It says to "spray directly on affected areas" and then says "spray on upholstery items like combs, pillow cases, and towels." I'm not sure if "affected areas" means on your body or in your home. The cap has a note that you can use it to dilute the mixture for sensitive skin, though, which implies it can be used on skin, so I took one for the team and just sprayed it directly on my beautiful face. It also smells like tea tree oil, and it burns a little bit, though I'm not seeing much if any visible irritation. I think maybe it is intended mostly to be used on things besides your skin, but I could be wrong. They could make the instructions much clearer. This set is manufactured in Australia.

My teenager's been battling stubborn acne that wouldn't budge with regular products. After researching demodex mites (fascinating and slightly horrifying rabbit hole), we decided to try this kit. The science made sense—target the root cause, not just the symptoms. The cleanser has this medicinal tea tree scent that screams "I mean business." My teen uses it nightly, and the treatment spray goes on after. The routine took some getting used to - it's not as simple as slapping on benzoyl peroxide and calling it done. 🌿 After six weeks, I'd say we saw about 40% improvement. The angry red patches calmed down considerably, and the texture improved. Not the miracle cure we hoped for, but noticeable progress. The itchiness that drove them crazy at night? Almost completely gone. It's pricey for something that didn't completely solve the problem. But watching my teenager gain back some confidence from clearer skin? Worth continuing the journey. Sometimes progress looks like better, not perfect, and that's okay.

So far, I think I'm getting pretty good results with this two stage treatment which comprises of a cleanser and the actual treatment. I should have taken a before and after pic but my skin definitely seems to be getting clearer after little more than one week. It is simple enough to fit into my routine, both bottles are 125ml each so I'd estimate them lasting at least two if not three months with careful use. I hope the improvements continue and if they do, I may well consider purchasing another set but at £208 it will definitely need to prove that it is worth it. At the moment, they are. 4 stars not 5 purely due to the premium pricepoint but the product itself I have no complaints about at this stage.

The Ungex Demodex Solution Basic Kit is designed to help with issues like acne, rosacea, itching and that uncomfortable crawling sensation linked to Demodex mites. It’s easy to apply as part of a skincare routine and the products so far have felt gentle on my skin. Haven't noticed a phenomenal change in my skin but its certainly lessening some red areas.
