From director Todd Douglas Miller (Dinosaur 13) comes a cinematic event 50 years in the making. Crafted from a newly discovered trove of 65mm footage, and more than 11,000 hours of uncatalogued audio recordings, Apollo 11 takes us straight to the heart of NASA's most celebrated mission-the one that first put men on the moon, and forever made Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin into household names. Immersed in the perspectives of the astronauts, the team in Mission Control, and the millions of spectators on the ground, we vividly experience those momentous days and hours in 1969 when humankind took a giant leap into the future. Review: Fabulous! - Holy SMOKES!!!! Buy this NOW!!!!! The 4K disc will play fine in the United States. The included Blu-ray with bonus materials will not, but you can get a "region free" Blu-ray player that will allow you access to the bonus materials. Whether you view the bonus materials or not, this is ABSOLUTELY worth seeing. Footage you've never seen before. You'll be VERY glad you added this to your library. Review: Amazing documentary - This incredible documentary makes use of old 65mm film that was found in pristine condition and scanned to 4k. It's absolutely amazing. The 60s come through in amazing resolution, and the work of NASA's cameramen and of Armstrong and Aldrin gives views that we've never seen before of the first manned mission to the moon.

This'll make ya wanna go 'up there'!
Sooo much unknown detail and data with superb footage. Sadly they omitted some things though like this: When Apollo 11’s Eagle lunar module landed on the moon’s Sea of Tranquility on July 20, 1969, the space travelers took time to recover from their flight before stepping onto the moon’s surface. Astronaut Buzz Aldrin had received permission to bring bread and wine so he could take Communion. After reading Scripture, he tasted the first foods ever consumed on the moon. Later, he wrote: “I poured the wine into the chalice our church had given me. In the one-sixth gravity of the moon the wine curled slowly and gracefully up the side of the cup.” As Aldrin enjoyed this celestial Communion, his actions proclaimed his belief in Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and the guarantee of His second coming.

If you have a 4k setup and are into space/aerospace, I highly suggest getting this! The UHD is done very well.
