Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Easy to digest. Well written. Useful. Must read! - This book is an outstandingly clear and uncomplicated way to gain knowledge from ninety-nine terrific educational journals. In it, I found many useful and thought-provoking journals that were decoded and presented in a way that is understandable even by teachers that are not familiar with academic reading. Every paper is also presented with illustrations that help with the processing of the information included in it, gladly following the suggestions about dual coding that one of the studies proposes. Much like the dual coding example, the authors of the book take any useful content that might affect the design of the book and how it will be consumed and apply it. Thanks to this ethos, the book is a delight to read and definitely a must-read for anyone that cares about the profession. It also has many studies targeted at parents, which made me reflect on what type of parent would I be if I had children. Five stars, no doubt one of the most useful books about education I have read so far! Review: School SENCO/ Inclusion lead sidekick - Love, love, love this! So easy to read with bite size chunks of information. A perfect sidekick for the EEF implementation cycle, with gathering information. A must have for any school leaders wanting to implement things and support their team in understanding why.

The perfect bridge from research to classroom
This book has been an immediate hit in my school. For staff that want to bring research into the classroom and maybe don't have the time to read lots on a full teaching timetable, this book breaks down some of the most important studies into an easy to follow format, offering succinct summaries of the study and what the classroom implications might be. Thoroughly recommend!

The best book for busy educators to access high level research
I always wanted to get the 1st edition of this book and never quite got round to it. Now I have the 2nd edition, I feel that I missed a trick. The succinct summaries of educational research study finding, related research and classroom implications (plus clear cross referencing to other studies in the book) is so quick to access and take actions from (that have an evidence base). This is the holy grail for teachers who want to check what they are doing is rigorous and valid, or to change their practice to something with more than just an anecdotal background. Every teacher should have access to it.

A user friendly, easily accessible must have
I received this on Thursday and haven’t been able to put it down. If, like me, you are a busy member of the Senior Leadership Team in a school and are keen to understand the science behind education in an incredibly user friendly and accessible format, this is the book for you. Perfectly laid out and easy to dip into when you have a spare few minutes. I can’t recommend it highly enough and I can see it being used far more than many of the densely packed books it will sit alongside.

Concise, useful, saves reading the whole papers
Summarises key points wonderfully and each paper summary has a section on 'application in the classroom' which makes it perfect for educators. Also helped me find papers to reference for my PGCE essays.

Not for me
I guess I was hoping for more than a snapshot of research. I can see why it's got good reviews but sadly not for me so I sent it back.

A resource I draw on again and again. I have it in print and kindle format and often gift it to my ECT mentees.

Gives a short overview of interesting studies regarding learning. Some are more targeted towards younger students where parents' play a role and others are from looking at university students. It is more of an introduction to the topic and a good summary rather than a deep dive.

The research and actual facts provided with references to the studies is awesome. I haven’t read through the entire book just yet, but I have either learned a lot or have been provided actual studies to back up why I do what I do in the classroom. There are of course some things that just don’t really relate to me which is why I went back and forth on taking a star away. I ended up with 4 stars because if anyone is looking at the reviews I want them to really understand that sometimes things may not relate or you might have to dig to find a relationship to your practices. I would still highly recommend this book!
