Simple installation. More expensive than universal openers.
Originally had installation issues with Genie (universal opener @ 1/2 the price) and my LiftMaster garage door. Installation of the 878Max was simple. Worked immediately on both doors. No operating issues after several months of use. Best features: One-click button to close garage door and cover to protect keypad.

Best ever 30second setup
Getting this keyless opener was amazing. I read the instructions. Went to garage as soon as I got it. Pushed the lean button on the opener. Entered the 4 # pin. Held enter. Garage door opener light 💡 flashed. Let go. Entered pin, Pressed enter and the door worked perfectly! Took about 30 seconds ! Well worth the extra money! Should have bought this the first time. I wasted my money on the cheap one. It never worked. Would not program. You get what you pay for. The lift master is the best! If you want to be sure it works, spend the extra money, you won't be sorry!

Easy Set Up
Although a little pricy, it was so much easier to install and program. After fastening it to the outside of my garage, I pressed the learn button on the main unit, entered my pin in the keypad, hit enter and the door worked perfectly. We’d bought another generic brand from a home improvement store years earlier, but always had to enter the pin, plus zero, then “enter” to open the garage door. Because it’s made by Liftmaster, the directions for setting it up were easy to follow. I’m glad I went with a genuine replacement part rather than a cheaper off-brand model. Highly recommend.

You Get What You Pay For
I tried to get around paying the price for the OEM control and things didn’t go very well for me. I purchase two aftermarket, Chinese remotes that claimed they’d work with the smart Liftmaster. After spending close to two hours attempting to program them I returned both. I was frustrated and annoyed but I bit the bullet and purchased this OEM Liftmaster. What a difference! I pressed the yellow learn button on the backside of the motor, entered my four digit code, pressed the enter button and viola! It WORKED straight away. No muss, no fuss, just perfection!

Buttons are a little sticky but easy to use and program
It does it its job and was really easy to program. I can’t give it five starts though because the “enter” button doesn’t always work. And that’s a pretty crucial button to the operation.

Works perfectly.
Get this one. It’s exactly like the original that came with the garage door lift system. If you don’t, then make sure you read the fine print. Most of the others won’t close the garage door simply by hitting the enter key. That means if you don’t have the clicker, you will have to key in the code and then hit enter. No big deal, but if you want to leave your house before the contractor or cleaner, you will have to give them your code. And then you’ll have to reprogram the code which is kind of annoying. So just get this one.

Bought this as a replacement for an 15 year or so old Liftmaster key pad. Was a little worried that the footprint on the side of my garage door would be different and not cover the area of the original unit, which look different due to the covered area looking different than the rest which has been exposed to the elements. Fortunately, the footprint was exactly the same. The top screw was in the exact same spot and covered perfectly. Bottom screw was a bit lower so I had to drill a new hole, but that’s fine. Setup was straight forward using the instruction. Does exactly what it’s supposed to do!

This is the manufacturers opener and it worked like a charm. Extremely easy install and connection to my garage door opener.

My old craftsman keypad (which looks EXACTLY the same so I assume was actually made by liftmaster and licenced to Craftsman) was wonky and the buttons weren't registering causing the family to have to press the buttons really hard and often the door wouldn't work until multiple tries. I purchased this and initially though it was wired but it is all wireless (I hadn't taken off the old one before I purchased this one). I needed to follow the "if not yellow button then use the instructions below" in the manual. Mine was a purple "learn" button on the lift. It was pretty easy to set up and I was done in 5 minutes.
