We reside in central Florida. It's hot! Our air handler is in the attic. After replacing our old system with a new 2-stage 5-ton central air conditioning system last July, the air handler experienced a sweating issue. We guessed that mold occured in our plenums or ducts. This winter we experienced musty or moldy or an ozone like odor coming from our central AC, especially one zone in particular. We truly believe it was affecting our health. We installed a RGF REME HALO Whole Home In-Duct Air Purifier. I'm sure it's a good thing but It did not help. We had our air quality tested, all normal results. The HVAC professionals cleaned the original coil on two occasions and conducted a fogging service. The smell remained. 7 or 8 months after installation the coil was replaced. The sweating problem was solved, but the odor continued. We purchased "Duct Fresh Gel - HVAC Air Freshener, Cleaner, Deodorizer Non Toxic for Odor Block, Small" from Amazon. We placed an open container in one of the return ducts close to the air handler. Amazing. Really. For all intent and purposes, the problem is solved. While there is a rare occasional ever so slight whiff of the odor, but for 99.99% of the time, the odor is gone. We are beyond pleased.

This product works well in our HVAC duct system to keep the musty odors eliminated during cooling season. The first time we used it we had to pop the gel out of the container it came in and put it in a larger container so the gel had more surface area exposed to the air flow in our return air duct. After 3 weeks of initial use the gel was almost all gone along with the musty odor and we dropped the remaining gel back into the original container to continue to maintain the system. The gel scent is not strong enough to be noticeable in our home but it has made the air odor more pleasant. We are purchasing additional product to keep maintaining the odor. We are very pleased with the product.

Ineffective. It didn't stop odors. No scent at all. The gel was hard as a rock. It looks like it was open because the product was dry.

This stuff worked well to elimanate some mildew odor i had from AC to heat in the fall. But only lasted a month, not 3 months as advertised. Its good, but expensive.

This product work at the beginning but not for long, maybe in a house where you dont cook smoke or have pets will, but strong odors overwhelm the product making it worthless having it.
