Plantar Fasciitis Night Support, Adjustable

I was fighting plantar fasciitis for over a month. I read the reviews from people who give products a chance and use it as intended. I also read the reviews from folks who love to whine because everything isn't perfect in their small world and they can't figure anything out for themselves. I decided I could make this work. I diagnosed my condition myself, and talked to others who have had it. I just don't see any problem with the Furturo. After the first night, I noticed an improvement in the morning pain. The healing seemed to have stalled, until I got orthotic shoe inserts that give true arch support, not those ones that don't have the arch support, lifting only your heel. They probably do more harm than good, although they help for a day or two. I went to Walmart and stepped on Dr. Scholl's foot-mapping machine to get fitted for the orthotic inserts. I bought a pair of Dr. Scholl's Custom Fit Orthotic Inserts. As I spend a lot of time on my feet at work, that's when the healing truly began. I have been using the Furturo for months, and along with orthotic shoe inserts, my condition is much improved. This is not a magic fix by itself. Although products like this help, I believe you must get the orthotic shoe inserts (one fitted to you) along with an item like this to get you on the path to healing. I learned some things about this product after using it for four months. I wear a sock with it, and I quickly got used to it. Wearing a sock makes it more comfortable to strap on. (Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't like wearing socks to bed, either. But when you hurt, it's a small price to pay. Get over it.) The Furturo doesn't need to be strapped on tightly to the point of being uncomfortable and cutting off circulation. You just want it to keep your toes pointed (actually the ball of your foot) close to 90 degrees to your leg (as the picture on the box illustrates). The toes don't need to be pointed up towards your leg. Put the lower strap around the ball of your foot, not around the toes. The idea is to keep the ball of your foot from falling away from your shin as you sleep, which put stress on the tendon in the bottom of your foot. While sitting, I put the upper strap above my ankle first, securing it there (not too tightly). I slide the Furturo down to where the curved part touches the top of my ankle. Then, I strap the lower support around the ball of my foot. If you notice, the lower support is wider on one side. That part goes towards your big toe, while the more narrow part goes around to the little toe side of your foot, as to not cut off circulation there.

These arch supports have done wonders with my plantar fasciitis. They have helped me walk without pain. I highly recommend them!

Works well and has helped me with Achilles tendonitis. It is much better than the large typical foot braces. I have no problem sleeping with this device on and its easy to get out of bed and walk if needed. The only issue I had was getting the straps adjust correctly. I would suggest using the braces for a while in a chair while watching TV or reading to give it some time to see how it feels. Make sure not to adjust the straps too tight or it can cause some numbness.

The first time I tried this on, I was wishing I had bought a different kind. But then I figured, it's here, and I'm tired of being in pain, so let's see if we can make this work. First thing's first: Adjust the position of the foot strap. I'm not talking about the length, I'm talking about where it lays on your foot. If the strap is under your toes, undo the velcro and bring it back toward your ankle. The strap should wrap from the top of your foot, down and under the ball of your foot. If it's too far forward, then the splint will end up sliding forward and allowing your foot to slip out, or at least not hold it at the correct angle. Second: The leg wrap needs to be snug, but as I found out last night, there is such a thing as too tight. I was laying in bed last night and had pains shooting from the outside of my thigh down into my knee. I couldn't figure out what was causing the pain, so I kept turning over, readjusting my laying position, but nothing helped. I finally got up and loosened the leg strap just a touch, and that alleviated the leg pain. Apparently I was cutting off circulation, but only in one spot. It needs to be snug, but not so tight that you cut off circulation. It may slip just a little, but as long as the foot strap is in the right place and very snug, then the brace will stay on. Third: Stomach Sleepers CAN use this. I usually sleep in an "h" position on my stomach. I cannot lay flat on my back, so that is not an option for me. Using the brace only slightly changes the angle that my foot rests in. If you feel pressure in your knee, then try adjusting your leg more. I said I sleep in an "h" position. Now, though, it's more like the bottom half of a "k" where my leg is more just angled out toward the foot of the bed, instead of my thigh going across and my lower leg doing down the bed. I hope that makes sense. When you turn over, and you want to put your leg straight down the bed, there is a way to kind of prop your foot up (yes, upside-down), if your toes don't stick out too far from the brace. Sometimes I just angle my body slightly, to accommodate my foot needing to lay completely sideways. Fourth: Walking in this is kind of difficult, as you can't really bend your ankle. The more you walk in it, the more the brace slips and you'll just have to reset it anyway. So getting up to potty in the middle of the night may mean you need to take it off and put it back on, though I have been able to go without taking it off. Be very careful here, as it can cause you to lose your balance, or case wear/tear to the brace. Overall, I give it 3 stars. A brace that has the support on the back of your leg going to the bottom of your foot would probably be better, but they are a bit more intrusive. With this one, I can put it on while reclining in the living room and still keep my pants over it so my leg doesn't get cold. And it's hard to find a way to strap something to the lower part of the leg without slipping, since the leg tapers down. I really think that a third strap, running from the leg cuff, wrapping under the heel would make it stay on better. I have enjoyed being able to get out of my recliner and bed without having to hold onto furniture, limping and hobbling around until my foot decides to work. The first night I used it, my foot has been in so much pain earlier that day, that I dreaded waking up and trying to walk the next morning. But that morning, I got up and there was only minimal pain. I should have stretched it before walking, but I couldn't wait... had to potty. But, I walked to the potty like nothing was wrong, and only had a small amount of pain in my heel. My husband looked at me puzzled, not realizing that one night could make that much difference!

Really great product. Works on my feet which includes one foot with eight broken bones. Easily adjusted to your needs with 2 options for arch support.

Have been dealing with plantar fasciitis for 7 years. This is what gives me the most relieve. Well worth the cost!!

It's really good, very confortable, this product. Help me with plantar Faciitis, I tried different products that did not work but this helped me to eliminate the pain in my foot.

As someone with badly fallen arches, this provides great arch support and relieves pain when I am not able to wear arch support shoes. The fact that there are 2 levels of support is also great - and they're swappable according to individual needs.
