Flexible blade and a solid tool for drywall work.
I purchased the drywall skimming tool to skim coat my whole house and I am pleased with it so far. Only issue I have is that I wished I would have purchased an additional smaller tool for short walls, but that is not an issue in the tools design. Keep it clean as soon as you are done and it will last a long time. The design is comfortable in your hands and hand good balance due to its weight. Do your self a favor and spend a few dollars more as the right tool that will last is the best value for your money.

Great large blade for flat finishes
Great drywall tool for flattening out large areas. Nice straight blade that does a wonderful job on flat finishes for walls or ceilings as long as it arrives undamaged and you take care. This should last a long time and give you a lot of great finishes.

Decent but not great
Pretty solid tool. Water can get trapped between the blade and the plastic, so make sure you take it apart between uses after you rinse it. It’s a little delicate for drywall work, which is why I’m marking it 4 instead of 5.

Excellent quality tool
I bought this 48" skimmer because I had a large uneven drywall area to fill, and I felt that I would rather fill with mud than pull down the sheetrock. I needed it narrower and used a belt sander to narrow it to about 46" to fit into a diagonal wall in a gabled area, and the blade did not bend or warp. I probably should have used a board as a screed, because this is not exactly what the skimmer's purpose is. It took a few passes to get the mud up to the level I needed. But it worked perfectly when I got to the skim stage on that wall. This wall unfortunately is flatter than the wall I did not have to skim. But the paint texture seemed to hide all the joints anyway. No rust after washing this tool. It worked awesome. Now it is going to sit and gather dust, because I am no pro and do not like drywall finishing.

Useful when needed
Very rare that I ever have to pull out this bad boy… but it has come in handy for large skimming projects or when floating out a bowed out wall lol

No special pole handle needed
This is my 3rd marshalltown skim blade but my first 24 inch. I also have a 24 inch metal columbia tomahawk that works great for walls but in order to use it on the ceiling I would need to buy their proprietary clamp and pole. The marshalltown clamp allows one to use a simple painters pole. The metal Columbia is significantly heavier, 39 ounces compared to 28oz.. Doesn't sound like much but when using it overhead it makes a difference. I can detect no difference in blade quality. I've read that the plastic type can warp when left in a hot vehicle but that's not an issue for me.

Great for skim coating
This thing works wonders when skim coating. It’ll give you results far superior to those you’ll get with smaller knives.
