Very healthy plants that started to grow within days
We have tried at least three times previously to buy and grow waterlilies from garden centres. We have been very unlucky in the past with any success. This was going to be our last attempt at growing lilies in our pond We were dubious about buying and receiving plants in the post.....but how wrong could we have been. The plants arrived well packed and In good condition with full and simple planting instructions. Plants were supplied with planting basket Within 14 days new lily pads have grown. We are amazed and delighted. Good strong plants easy to get established , very very good value for money and sold at a comparative price.

Quick sprouting, easy to plant.
Simple planting, just as advertised. My pond depth fits the requirements perfectly. The corms had small sprouts when they arrived and it didn't take long for them to rise up. They've been in the water for 4 days now and you can see the result for yourselves in the picture here. Update 30/09/2025 The three lilies have been sprouting leaves all summer, but no flower buds. I was starting to think my little pond conditions were not ideal. And then I got my first bud at the beginning of August (I think)... The pictures are showing the flower I have now. Couldn't be happier :)

Good value for money
Water lilies are very expensive so the three you get here represents good value. I found initially that the compost included leached out into the pond water and made it opaque so you really need to line the basket with hessian, root the plants well in proper aquatic compost and then cover with a good layer a gravel as the amount included is woefully inadequate. I would also recommend growing them initially in a bucket of water outside your pond until they are well established. My fish gobbled and nibbled away at the emerging leaves on my first attempt until there was nothing left. Apply these tweaks and you won't be disappointed as I was initially.

Better value than the garden centre and very easy to assemble
We had water lilies a long time ago... But then one spring a few of our fish decided to rumage around and they never recovered. But they are older and more lazy so i decided to give this a try, especially as it's far cheaper than the local garden centre. These are very easy to plant. When this arrives you get a pot, 3 roots wrapped in moss, a bag of pond soil, a bag of stones. Just pour in the soil, sit the 3 lillie roots in (any sprouts or leaves pointing up) then sprinkle the stones over the top. This would make a good gift for anyone with a pond and is a great option if you are just setting up a pond. After i planted i took a bucket of pond water and sat the pot inside. Within a day the shoots that were already vissible perked up and were growing, after a couple of days more shoots appeared. The ideal depth is 0cm - 60cm at most. My pond is deep. So i took an old plastic bucket, drilled lots of holes in the bottom and then took some cable ties to secure the pot to the outside bottom of the bucket, place the rim of the bucket on the bottom of the pond and your pot is raised and not falling off. ** note if you do have large koi in your pond it's a good idea to place some large stones on the top to stop them digging out the bulb/root. I topped the pond up yesterday and came out to an empty basket and the 3 roots floating around the pond. Repot and a few large stones on top to stop them digging them out again. A lot of the soil is gone though so i will have to order seperately to top it up. The gravel included is just too light. A few heavy stones will easily stop any hungry fish. This is good quality and value. Recommended. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it useful.

Beautiful.
Small tubors last year have turned into a wonderful display this year. My pond is maturing well and these Lillie's have enhanced it beautifully. The shade the leaves offer also helps to restrict blanket weed.
