This brand of graphite isn't suited for small detail carving. It isn't as strong as other brands I've used. I've tossed models 20 feet across concrete without breaking them, but a ring model I made from this cracked with simple handling. Small features I carved came away in little chunks rather than sharp chips and fine powder. I'm giving it 3 stars rather than 1 star because the job I'm using this for is very specific, and I think it will handle more common tasks just fine.

Exactly what I needed to make impossible to get brushes for an old shop bench grinder. I was able to carefully carve out pieces from the block with a band saw and file to make new brushes.
