GE PHB920SJSS Electric Induction Range

The induction range is awesome! Heats up fast, very controllable, though I do wish there was a 4.5 heat setting. The burners have a 1 to 11 setting with lights. The 11 setting heats up our pans at 5 F per second with a dry pan. Convection over works perfectly and I checked the temperature setting with an in over thermometer and it was within 5F of the setting. Since the pan is heated itself the top surface only gets as hot as the pan so boil overs wipe up easily. We feel that induction is superior to both gas and regular electric ranges, but you can't use non-magnetic stainless, so we had to buy a new pan set.

The GE customer rep has offered this stove to us for $950 after a similar GE induction stove became unuseable after 4 years(circuitry, both on top and in the oven). Why don't I like that deal? Why throw good money after bad? What happens to the consumer after GE sells its consumer appliance business to a Chinese company? What does that say about the integrity of the product?

This a really nice stove. I have had this one and 1/2 years and it works well. The only hiccup has that it needed to be reset a the breaker panel two or three times when the control buttons would not work. The keypads are glass covered, not plastic, and have a good look. The oven gets very hot and makes great pizza. The finish of the oven enamel doesn't seem as nice as some other ovens I've had in the past so I took off one star. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this one again.

I have owned the older model with the warming drawer for about 3 years. The induction cooking is safe and efficient. The convection oven is efficient and works as expected. The warming drawer is a great feature, but has been removed for the newest model. I have written the company urging them to include it in future models. I believe the GE induction stove top and convection oven offer the safest and most efficient cooking in this price range. The quality has been exceptional.
