It offers one huge benefit to the dabbler over other similar kits: organization. All components are carefully bagged, most of them bagged separately, with combined bags pretty logical (22pf and 104 pf capacitors are in the same bag) Resistors are labelled in a neat hand on their paper strips if you haven't learned the color codes yet. Transistors and Integrated Circuits are all listed on the little part sheet with their part number, so it's easy to google them. The cute little box stays shut with a satisfying *snap* and is secure tossed into a toolbox. A breadboard power supply is included, though as others have noted not required 6-15v input power adapter, These adapters should be widely available. I grabbed a 9v and 12v ac adapter from my local goodwill and it performed beautifully. If you need a full datasheet for this poweradapter, just search the part number '545043' and you can find all the info you'll need. This is an entirely solderless kit, with all the parts working perfectly with a breadboard. Note that if you're trying to do hardware hacking with a Raspberry Pi, this kit also includes some socket-to-prong cables, making your life a *lot* easier when connecting to its onboard pins. While this kit includes every part you might need to do your first hardware hacking, you might consider picking up a cheap multimeter and a few power-supply AC adaptors or battery boxes in addition. Review: Great kit, but it's missing some key parts - Awesome starter kit for its price. I've been teaching myself electronics and this kit has saved me a lot of time. The breadboard is a bit flaky, but I've been told breadboards aren't very durable in general, so no stars off; just treat it with care and don't shove wiring deep in the sockets because the clips will pinch the wire tips off and you'll lose access to a whole row. Oops The LEDs are veeerry sensitive so you have to be sure you aren't pumping even a little too much juice through them. !DISCLAIMER!: Although the tutorial provided online is very helpful; it is not tailored specific to this kit, so unless you have a 9V battery handy and don't plan on doing any programming or tutorial lessons, you have to buy the 9V adapter, an Arduino UNO (or the Elegoo UNO R3 equivalent for less $$), and the USB cable (do NOT use a printer/scanner/etc cable even though it's the same shape). You can't do any major fun stuff unless you have those three things listed above; the kit does not include a cable for the power supply module.

Good kit, but has a few issues
This is a good intro kit for anyone looking to get into the hobby. While the parts might be marked up pretty high, you would still have to spend much more money up front to get this much variety of components. However, there were a few things that I didn't like about it that are outlined below. Pros: - Good variety of components means that you don't have to spend much more money to get started in the hobby. You can gauge your interest with this kit and then buy more parts later. Cons: - The breadboard power supply doesn't come with a power cable. Power cables aren't that expensive or hard to find, but it just seems like it should come with a power cable. - The organizer box that comes with the kit doesn't fit everything in it. Again, this isn't that much of an issue, particularly if you already have your own separate storage and don't mind mixing components in each division of the box (keep in mind, though, that you'll have a hard time fitting everything back in the box after you take it out for the first time). As someone who values organization, I had to buy a separate container to hold everything that came in the kit. Like I said, this a good intro kit for anyone looking to start into the hobby. Sure, it might be cheaper per part to buy all of this stuff individually, but you'll end up spending a lot more to get enough variety to be useful because you'll have to buy much larger packs. There are just a few things that make it fall short and might catch you off guard when you receive it.

Great kit for a beginner!
It's a great kit for a great price. I bought this to learn more about circuits before attempting to repair an old battery-powered truck. The power board makes building and testing circuits much easier- no battery pack to worry about. Resistors are clearly identified by stamped values on the tape. The wires connected to the resistors are thick, making inserting them into the breadboard much easier and secure. I have also used this kit with a Raspberry Pi 3B+ and have had great success with simple circuits, controlling them with Python. The project book has several projects but all of them use an Arduino, which this kit does not have. Projects that don't require a single board computer can be found online easily enough.

Great kit with a wide assortment of components. A must buy for any first timer.
I bought this to do my first hardware build. I can highly recommend this product, it has a little of everything you will need for your first hardware build, and quite a bit extra. I have yet to use everything in the kit, but everything I have used worked perfectly. If you ordered only what you needed you would probably get a higher quantity, but I highly doubt you can get the assortment of items for the same price. For my first hardware build it was cheaper to purchase this kit than to purchase the parts individually. Plus I have plenty of extra for whatever I decide to build next, and the wheels are already spinning. I will no doubt be purchasing more products from Elegoo. My only complaint is that the items could have been better sorted/labeled, but that is more on me and my terrible eye sight than it is Elegoo.

Great budget kit for Arduino Uno (And Much, Much More!)
I got this kit to go along with an Arduino Uno I received, hoping to build up my electronics skills. Before a few days ago, I had close to zero experience with any of the items included in this kit, but decided it was time to get into it. For only $20, this kit seems like an absolute steal! It comes with hundreds of items, and they all seem to be of reasonable quality. That said, I'm not sure I would be able to tell if it wasn't high quality other than the fact that something didn't work. In this case, everything I've used is working beautifully, and I am extremely satisfied with the purchase. If I had to complain about one thing, I would say that the plastic container is too small. Even though everything is shipped in the container, it is nearly impossible to squeeze everything back in once it is taken out. In fact, I don't even bother trying anymore, and I just leave the box open with a heaping pile of electronics inside.

Good for Tinkering
This kit is amazing. It comes with just about everything you need to build some simple and complex circuits. Everything is clearly labeled and I haven't had a dead component yet. It is very easy to select a component from the kit and place it on the breadboard. I like that the breadboard comes with a power supply that allows you to hook up via usb, a cord, or through the pins when you don't want to power the board from the Pi. I will definitively use this to experiment and play around with my Pi as it is fun to work with the various sensors and components.

Decent set of electronic components, very questionable breadboard
A decent starter kit marred by a poor quality breadboard. About 30% of the holes don't grab jumper wires, let alone much thinner legs of resistors and condensers - they simply fall out. It is also very frustrating that those loose holes are at the ends of power/ground lines. Another 20% of the holes are too tight even for resistors. I feel many beginners who attempt to use the board will be left frustrated and annoyed. Toss this breadboard and buy a quality one somewhere else to save yourself the aggravation.
