Tames frizzy, wiry grays without weighing down curls
As you can see from the pic--which was taken this morning after washing and air-drying it last night (I've done *nothing* with it)--I have medium brown 3a/3b wavy-curly hair with loads of gray at the temples. The gray is less curly than the rest of my hair--and it's wiry and super frizzy. It's been coming in like gangbusters, so recently I began looking for a (cruelty-free) shampoo and conditioner that would tame the frizz without being too heavy and diminish the definition of my curls; I've tried several without any luck. But...Eureka! I believe I have found it in this shampoo and conditioner combo by Andalou. I had a feeling this would be it, because it was love at first try with the Andalou Shea Butter Lavender hand cream. That stuff pampers my dry, aging skin--and it smells heavenly. I often wear it in lieu of perfume. This company seems to just really *work* with my body chemistry. A quick note about using the shampoo. Some folks in the reviews have complained it doesn't suds up enough, but it really does. The trick with this (and all sulfate-free shampoos) is to make sure your hair *and* your scalp are both completely soaked before putting the product in your hair; these sulfate-free formulas need lots of water to build up a sudsy head. Like most people, I use a hand held shower head and I spend a generous 5 minutes deliberately drenching my hair and scalp, holding the shower head close to my hair and even moving my hair up and out of the way to really shoot the water into the scalp area. If you're patient and do this first, then apply shampoo, you'll have all the lather you could possibly want, I promise. In any event, I love the stuff and the conditioner too (another heavenly scent); my hair looks and feels better than ever. I'm so happy I've finally found two basic, essential hair care products that I really, really love--and the company that makes them is also 100% cruelty-free. Score! P.S. I've added a "before" pic so you can get a very clear idea what I've been dealing with, up until now, in terms of frizz.

Great shampoo, no harsh chemicals.
Best shampoo ever. Smells great, lathers well, rinses clean, moisturizes.

The best natural shampoo!
Love this shampoo and the conditioner that goes with it. My hair is the softest, smooth, and sleek that it’s ever been. I struggle with sensitive scalp and I usually get dandruff from various brands of shampoo but this shampoo does not bother my scalp. My hair feels clean.

It smells good, and works when used sparingly
I changed my 3-star rating on this product to 5-stars after adjust the quantity used and not using slightly lower water temperature. It seemed to dry my hair at first few uses, but after making the mentioned changes, I find that it's an excellent shampoo. I am using it daily, but only using a small squirt and latherin it up and then rinsing vigorously. It leaves my hair clean, but not stripped down. Definitely a product I will keep using.

A very astringent formula-- and wonderfully so.
Andalou hair products are great. They're all chock-full of real botanical essences and a minimum of dangerous (and commonly used) chemicals. This one is full of glorious lavender scent. It is very astringent, cleaning the hair very thoroughly, and might be best used only when humidity is high; or, depending on your own hair and scalp, you might benefit from a conditioner following this shampoo. Each of Andalou's products is heavenly for its fragrance. Grapefruit, lavender, all sorts of easily identified extracts, and all of them genuine botanicals. And the formulations are definitely smart.

MY ONE AND ONLY!
THIS IS THE BEST! I am chemically sensitive, and I tried the line of shampoo, conditioner, and leave in, and I lavender gone back to the expensive, chemical filled salon brands I used for years. I have naturally curly, below my shoulders, colored hair. This super concentrated, rich and luxurious shampoo keeps my hair soft, smoothed, and healthy!

I think it should be called a clarifying shampoo.
I wanted to love this shampoo. I really did. But, when I first started using it a few months ago, it left my hair feeling like straw. What I didn't realize then, was that this shampoo stripped off all the silicone my hair dressers and I have been dumping into my hair for years. After getting over the shock, I decided to educate myself, and wound up getting rid of most of my hair products that contained silicone in them. And my hair is healthier for it. I love the organic ingredients, the philosophy and paying the farmers & workers who are a part of growing the ingredients in this shampoo properly, and the smell is pretty great too~ The consistency is very much like a previous shampoo I had been using, which is viscous like syrup. The first wash lacks suds because it is cleaning your scalp, and then the second wash just erupts into bubbles, so be careful of how much you pour into your hands. All in all, it's a great product, just not one I can see myself purchasing again for my hair type.

Nice
As my hair gets drier, I needed something a little more moisturizing. I don’t find this shampoo to clean all that well on its own, but it is great when followed by Giovanni’s wheat shampoo and the Honest’s sensitive detangling spray. My hair is conditioned, but not flattened. I do need to use a fair amount to get it to lather, but it will.
