Nifty, handy little egg ring worked great
I was a little skeptical about trying this, because although there were plenty of people rating 5 star saying it worked great, there were still a lot of people rating it poorly and saying that the egg leaked or stuck, etc. I also was kind of like, well do I really need this, I mean I can crack an egg in the pan and if the white runs a little wider than my english muffin, it's not that big of a deal! Well, i saved it in my cart and eventually I wanted to order some other stuff from amazon, and since this was a prime product, for $4.95 (or whatever it was) and free shipping, I figured I'd give it a whirl. I have used it 3 or 4 times now, and it has worked perfectly each time. There are very brief "directions" on the back of the cardboard packaging it is attached to. Basically, you spray the pan, heat the pan. Use a little oil/butter/spray/whatever around the ring, place in the pan, put the egg in the ring and cook. The very first egg I made, I wasn't really thinking. Saw the egg white bottom looked solid and took the ring off, intending to flip the egg and cook the other side. Well there was still uncooked white on top which immediately did what it should do and slid down into the pan. But that was my fault, because duh, I took the ring off too soon. Also, it wasn't a big deal to me, like I said in the beginning, if the white was a little wider than english muffin-size. anyways, i checked the directions again and it does suggest that you put a lid on the pan. duh. lol. This way, the top of the egg will cook evenly with the bottom and you shouldn't need to flip at all! well, my husband likes the yolk cooked through and I like mine a little runny, if I'm eating at home, or cooked through if I am running late and have to take it with me... The second time I used it, I intended to put the lid on, but once I had the egg in there (on my smallest skillet), I realized the lid would not fit on top because of the little white egg guy perched on the side. I just let it cook uncovered until the top looked solid, took the ring off and flipped it over. Worked perfectly, the egg WAS done enough to not run, perfectly done, cute little round egg for my breakfast sandwich. I used it again this morning to make an english muffin sandwich for myself and one for my hubby, used a bigger pan, put the lid on so the top would cook a little faster. Personally, I like to still take the ring off (once you can tell the top is solid), and flip it over to cook the other side, but that's just my preference for how the egg comes out. If i wanted the yolk to still be ready, i would probably flip it for 30sec-1min then take it off. Still need to keep using it and mess around with the times to figure out how long for the different amounts of "doneness." First time, I dabbed a little olive oil on my fingertip and ran it around the inside and bottom of the ring. This is the one I explained I took off too early, and so a little egg did stick, but cleaned off with just a swipe of the sponge. After that, I have just been using with the same cooking spray I spray into the pan, and letting the egg cook a little longer before removing, and there hasn't been any egg on it at all. still rinse and wash to get any residual spray off, or it will build up and get sticky. Pretty neat little thing. Cuter than most of the other ones I saw. Also, although I haven't tried other brands, I recommend getting one that is silicone like this, for the "seal" to not have your white run out. I would think metal or solid ones will need to be just right to not leak, whereas the silicone is flexible... I also like that the little egg on the side is about your thumb size, and he does get a little warm while cooking but not too hot to pull off. It's cute but functional :)

Perfect egg ring
Perfect egg ring! Non-stick; slips right off the egg (do preheat your pan and I give the ring's inside a shot of Pam as well). The whites don't ooze out; silicone seems to seal against the non-stick pan (again, preheat and I push down lightly on the ring when adding the egg). Easy clean-up; they'd probably survive the dishwasher, but I do mine by hand; why risk it when that's so easy? Really like the size; can fit two in a 10" fry pan. All the others I could find are larger. Last ones I had were metal, presumably coated with non-stick. They were too big, stuck to the egg, and lacked a handle (had to use tongs). Goofy little cartoon handle, but it's cute and more importantly, functional. Careful not to turn them inside-out; still work fine, but instead of round, there'll be a flat spot by the handle. Again, these are perfect.

Great making eggs for sanwiches
Definitely make sure the pan is HOT before cracking in the egg or the whites will very quickly leak out. If they do you can simply use a spatula or fork to truncate that part and put it back in the shell before you flip the egg. Easy to clean.

Works perfectly
This egg circle thingy works great. Originally bought this to make homemade egg mcmuffins. Circle is the right size to fit an English muffin or bagel. Egg never sticks to the sides. I usually cook one side well and when the egg is almost cooked through, I take off the ring and flip the egg to get the other side of the egg cooked through. The egg doesn't lose its shape when I do this. A few comments from other reviews that I will address... the egg face on the device loses its paint... I just took the face off of it because it serves no purpose. Since the circle never gets too hot, I just grab it and slide it off the egg. Some people also mentioned that it was not perfectly round. I thought this was the case with mine when I first received it because the packaging seemed to have distorted the perfect circle. Once I put it in the pan to cook my first egg, it was a perfect circle. Love this, and I now use it whether or not I am making an egg sandwich.

Love this ring!
There is a trick to using this. At first the egg seeps out a little. I just pressed down on the top on both sides to stop seepage. Make sure the pan is preheated. After a week, the silicone must have adjusted to my pan. There is no more seepage so I love it. I spray oil in the sides and bottom of the pan. I put a coaster on top so the egg will cook faster and break the yolk. I take off the mold, flip the egg and put cheese and then round ham. Then, I flip it again and add another piece of ham on the other side. Delicious egg muffin results. It helps that I have my own chickens. I tried a very small frying pan. What a mess; I returned it. It was impossible to flip the egg. It was this same Joie brand. This ring works perfectly.

After making my kids omlettes I realized I wanted an egg sandwich. Wasn't sure how the edge would seal with a pan that had cheese still attached but it worked fine. So I put the egg thing into the hot pan. I put a lob of butter in the middle and let it melt. Then I cracked an egg in it and broke the yolk (like they do at restaurants). I don't like hard fried eggs so I put a but of water in the pan and then put a glass lid on it. Once the egg wasn't jiggly when I bumped the pan I took the lid off. At this point I wasn't sure how to get the ring off because I knew the egg dude would be hot. I just used a spatula to flip it off and it slid off no problem. That was actually great because that means I can remove the ring and flip the eggs if I want. Didn't have an issue with sticking or anything else. But I am generous with butter so it likely helped the seal. I bought a couple and I'll actually order more. This is such an easy way to make a bunch of breakfast sandwiches

I use mine all the time. they keep the eggs in a nice shape so that the whites dont get too thin and they fit nicely in my breakfast sandwich. Would recommend using these for that perfect fried egg.
