Install Was Clean — Works Exactly as It Should
Swapped this into a 3-way setup using the included diagram and had no issues. You’ve got four wires (two red, one black, one green), and as long as you match up the COM wire correctly, the rest is plug-and-play with wire nuts. What I like is how clean the rocker looks — no clunky dimmer dial, no weird LED glow, just a soft fade-on with a single tap and a smooth slide when you want it. Perfect for pairing with recessed lights or LED trims in a modern space. This replaced an older toggle switch and instantly made the wall feel more finished. Also, bonus points: it doesn’t buzz. That’s a must.Wiring was straightforward even with older copper. I’d recommend taking your time to trace which wire goes to the common terminal first — that’s the only step that matters.Simple, minimal, and does the job right.— Curated by Jaded John | #OrderlyCleanDesign

Works well, but the “click” is a bit loud
Installed this in our primary bathroom, which has a light fixture that contains eight LED bulbs and can be too bright if you’re getting up to use the bathroom at night. The dimming function works smoothly, and the option to set a minimum brightness is useful. Just one minor gripe: The audible “click” you hear when turning the switch on is surprisingly loud, especially at night when the house is quiet.

Easiest to use dimmers.
These are the most convenient dimmers, particularly when you a fumbling for the switch in the dark. You can dial the light intensity or press the knob to turn the signal on or off. For some reason, these are becoming harder to find in the hardware stores. They do not last as long as other types of dimmers.

Great quality switch
Easy switch to install don’t use up much electric box space and believe me my house has those nailed in ones yes 10p nails right through the box uggg nifty 50s lol the switch fit perfectly with room to spare too easy to use yes your right nothings perfect there is a half second delay not instant on has a relay and compositor in it so it can dim those led bulbs and no flickering or self shut down from over heating as with other brands Ugg I used Philips led dimmable bulbs 2~60w equivalent sram to be a good pairing oh this switch must be properly grounded had to find and dig out those bare wires Ugg to save time they used to twist them together behind the box the only hard part for me

Does not fit standard face plates; does not dim to zero light; wires too soft
I bought this item because I thought General Electric products are generally well designed. This particular item is not up to usual GE design standards. There are four things I dislike about this product, which replaces an old dimmer switch that's been there for years, which has begun to produce flickering light. The four things I dislike are as follows:[1] The post that the dimmer knob plugs onto is too long. As a result there is too much gap between face plate and dimmer knob, which looks bad.[2] Unlike the dimmer switch this replaces, you cannot screw a standard faceplate with a rectangular slot flush with the wall, which looks terrible. This is because of poor design. At the base of the post that holds the dimmer control knob there is a 19/32" retaining nut which is too wide to pass through the 17/32" width of the slot of a standard face plate. As a result the faceplate stands away from the wall with about a 1/8" gap. Which looks terrible. The previous rotary switch did not have this problem. Replacing the original plate with one with a circular hole had one problem: the original was a special custom plate that cost a lot, carefully matched to the decor.[3] The dimmer switch it replaces was able to dim from zero light to full power. This dimmer switch will not dim to zero. Maybe this is a necessary safety feature ? Or is it just careless design ?[4] The wire ends you connect to the power wires are soft braided multistrand wire not stiff enough to work well with the stiff copper wire coming from the wall, when you twist on the wire connector nuts.Because of problems [1] and [2], I found installation a real hassle. and so am awarding just one star.I hate to think of spending time returning this frustrating product and hoping that the replacement will be as good as the old switch I am replacing.Overall a bad experience.
