Keeps Her Entertained
The Kong Wubba save my couch pillows! I have what one might call a super chewer. She chews on everything including the corner of my couch pillows. However a Wubba will hold her attention! She loves to cary it around, and just enjoys playing with it and chewing it up. The quality is great because it takes her months to destroy it, and the. We just replace it! It has a thing rope like texture. The small ones are perfect for our 6lbs Chihuahua. It's thick enough to last a long time

Hack With-In
Over the 10+ years have been lucky enough to have a dog in my life have had many versions of these. Used to get one & it would last years. Now lasts weeks/month. Fabric is softer/less sturdy leading to ease destruction. The fabric collars that separate the two rubber balls inside & seals the 2 balls in the fabric shell tend to separate where stitched together - I have a fix for that which GREATLY increases the life of these that is simple, easy, inexpensive. Zip ties. I get whatever size is cheapest in a 20 pack. I zip tie the bottom fabric gasket & a 2nd to retain form/separate the 2 balls (smaller from larger). Any sharp edges on the zip ties can be softened or rounded to prevent injury by melting & molding sharp edges smooth in the hard plastic zip ties with a wand lighter (just practice safety). This saved one Kong that was 8 years old @ another that was days old from this seller (when both would’ve been trash-bound). These are then good for fetch, tug, shaking. For those dogs that tend to lie there & destroy (I.e. puppies/adolescent ~ 1 yr old “destructive stage”) - these will need supervision & removal to prevent shredding/eating the flappy material & help teach appropriate play.

I love the KONG Wubba Dog Toy! And so does my dog!
I love the KONG Wubba Dog Toy! And so does my dog! The top round bit is a tough little knob, the larger round bit is a squeaky ball. The outer cover is a really sturdy woven nylon fabric. Mine came in the color red. I got size "Large" for my dog, and it was a perfect size for him. I have a 1 year old Australian Shepherd. He has a moderate chew drive. This toy stands up to his moderate chew drive very well. Rowdy's favorite way to "solo-play" with this toy is to shake it back and forth vigerously so that the ball is whacking him in the side, or if he is holding the ball, the tails are hitting him in the side. He also likes to toss it on the ground for himself to watch it bounce away, or push the squeaker with his nose with the toy on the floor. For "interactive play", we like to go outside and throw that sucker across the yard! Rowdy loves to chase it, it bounces somewhat erratically when he hits the ground, which makes for more mental stimulation for him. When Rowdy grabs it, he shakes it around as he does in "solo-play" while bringing it back to us, and then he returns it, eager for another toss. Occasionally he will want to play tug games when he returns it. And we let him decide! This toy is a great confidence builder, too. If you "let your dog win" the tug games more often than not, that is very good for their confidence level. And when he has to "figure it out" after the ball has bounced in unexpected directions, he sure feels proud of himself for being successful! It's great to watch my overly timid dog come out of his shell and develop the confidence he needs! Overall, I am thrilled with this toy! Though we haven't experienced it, I am fairly certain it would survive getting soaked by sprinklers and dry just fine. I do think, however, that I would not recommend this toy for anyone who has a "serious chewer". I do not believe the tails would stand up to very focused chewing. But for the average dog, I believe this is a great toy. And well worth it's cost.

Good for for supervised play or non-chewers
First, let me say that the dogs LOVED this toy, so I would give it 5 stars for pup appeal. That said, it didn't last a month, so I gave it 3 stars for durability (see more about that below). Disappointing for a KONG toy, to say the least, but to be fair, we weren't strict about supervising play until we could see how it lasted. Having had such good luck with the Stuff-A-Ball, I wasn't too worried. I should have been. Construction: This was a big toy (as one might expect from a toy labelled "extra large"), and measured about 16" long and around 3" across the widest part of the body. The large "belly" ball is a large, soft rubber squeaker with a relatively high pitch that was quite loud. The small ball at the top was a standard "dog-safe" tennis ball. The whole apparatus is covered in a nylon "canvas" that is pretty durable for tug play. The cover is held in place with bands of the same fabric where the two balls meet and where the tail is joined to the bottom. That bottom band was the Wubba's downfall here. The dogs: Breque is a 35# Red Heeler/Kelpie mix, who is very high energy and hard-playing. She has outgrown chewing, but loves to work her powerful jaws on things (she can pop a new regulation tennis ball), and to shake and throw toys around. Lance is an 80# Lab-Pit mix, about 2 years old, who would much rather lie around and maul - not chew, maul - things. He picks threads to open toys so he can pull the squeakers out, de-furs fuzzy toys (picks the fur out one tuft at a time), unlaces shoes, and mauls anything with any sort of resistance. Breque could probably have played with the Wubba for a long time (in fact, she has a smaller version), but Lance mauled it in half. Literally. The fabric band at the base gathers the rest of the cover together and joins it to the tails. That means there are some small, semi-rigid pleats, and a lovely (and probably otherwise sturdy) band of fabric that just begs to be mauled. Lance picked at the pleats until they gave way and then chewed the tails off. On a good note: the tails have survived a lot of tugging and shaking and chewing since the demise of the original toy, and I stuffed the supersized squeaker in an old sock to make a new toy for supervised play. Unfortunately, the two just aren't as appealing as the original toy, so they don't get much attention unless there's a human involved. For supervised play or for dogs who have matured out of the chewing/mauling stage, I would still definitely recommend the Wubba. Our dogs loved it both for interactive play and as the go-to toy to entertain themselves, and we may try again once Lance gets past the Mr. Destructo stage.
