Usborne Instructions for a Second-hand Heart

Note to self. Don't judge a book by its cover or title! I read this book as part of a book challenge because the author is a member of my book club and to be honest I didn't read the blurb and assumed it was a chick lit/romance which really isn't my thing! Within the first chapter I realised my mistake (thank god) and quickly became engrossed in the lives of Jonny and Niamh. This YA novel deals with love, grief, friendship and family in a delicate and compassionate way.

I absolutely loved reading this book from page one right to it's conclusion. I thought I knew what this book was going to be about because I'd read the blurb and other reviews. However what I had not expected was the intensity I would feel for the characters and the exceptionally clever way Tamsyn Murray weaved their lives together. This is definitely a book to pick up when you've haven't got to rush off anywhere as I guarantee you will resent any time spent away from it! Also might be wise to stock up on tissues before you begin.

Lovely easy read book. Make sure you read the blurb as it may be upsetting for some.

It was a good read, some of it predictable.
