I recently got my hands on the Gorilla Black Duct Tape, and let me tell you, it’s like duct tape on steroids! Unleash the Beast: This tape is no ordinary sticky strip; it’s the Hulk of duct tapes. When I say it’s heavy-duty, I mean it – it could probably hold up a collapsing building (okay, maybe not, but you get the idea). After we were caught unaware in the Feb. 2021 deep freeze in south Texas, I decided to upgrade the insulation on all of my exposed pipes. I had never used Gorilla Tape before (I am a long-time user of Gorilla Glue) and I thought it might be good to serve as the outer layer to cover and protect the insulation. And it is. It behaves like duct tape but it adheres better and is more waterproof. It is harder to peel off the roll and that is a GOOD thing. What you have to be careful of is that it sticks to whatever you put it on, and once its stuck its hard (if not impossible) to remove. As I was wrapping my water main inlet I had to get the tape through the narrow space between the pipe and the brick wall, and I let it curl too much and it stuck to the brick. Hard! I have to use my knife to get it off and wrap it all the way around the entire pipe. I am so pleased with it and I'm sure it will still be around those pipes ten years from now.
