My husband supervises a recycling center, and his boots really take a beating. This is the second set of these we've purchased, because we were so pleased with the previous experience. He asked me to "get those toe caps" because he got a new pair of boots, and they worked so well on the previous pair.

Those who complain about poor adhesion must not be following the application directions. This is my second pair of boot savers on the same pair of boots. I purchased the first pair when my boots were new in November 2023. They finally wore so thin, they had to be replaced. Lasted almost a whole year. As you can see from the photos, my boots endure a lot of abuse. The boot savers withstood it and kept the toe of my boot protected. I work in all sorts of environments as a heavy equipment welder and fabricator.

If you have any boots, the toes of which you want to protect. These are the bomb. I use them on my house DIY work boots and on my sailing boots. It drives me nuts when I pay big bucks for a good set of boots and the toes wear through long before the boots are ready to retire. I will admit that I look a little like a nerd with these on my boots but I would rather be a booted nerd than a booted poor person - which is what I would be if I had to replace my expensive boots twice a year. When you install them don't skimp on the glue, make sure all edges have glue on the shoe and on the guard, remember, you don't care if you look like a nerd, think of all the $$ you are saving.

The glue that comes with product doesn't stick very well so I used some 3M weather strip glue and they do there job.

I put my first set on old boots with worn toes, seemed ok, didn't last, I figured it was due to boot condition, put a new set on new boots, lasted 3 weeks. Now I wonder if it was the glue..

My husband works in commercial roofing, and he swears by these for prolonging the life of his steel toe boots. Comes with the sandpaper to rough up the surface for better adhesion, and the glue for attaching. We used to buy them locally, but we haven’t been able to find any lately. Guess his secret is out!
