This could help your brain!
Was pleasantly surprised by this book after reading some of the reviews. I had tried a different mind mapping book years ago when my children were at school - trying to help them revise! But I didn’t take to it and neither did they. I decided to try this book as I listened to a brilliant YouTube video on depression that said rumination is a big problem for depressions and the answer is to get things done. But that you can’t get things done when you can’t think straight and that’s because you can’t sequence things. I remembered mind mapping and thought that might be a way to help my mind sequence things. This book provides good explanations and gives examples of mind maps in a way the previous book I tried didn’t. I finally started making mind maps for myself. It’s too soon to say whether they help with depression - it was a bit of a long shot! - but it has helped me get lots of things down on paper that had been cluttering up my brain. This is a helpful book if you want to learn about mind mapping.

Old contents, it is not worth the time of reading it. I would return it if I could. Save your money

Images too small
This is a great book to start you off mind mapping. I just found some of the images to be blurry and the font too small . That said the book has helped me with strategies to implement with my students.

O livro define brevemente os conceitos relacionados ao mapeamento mental e foca em ferramentas, aplicações, melhores práticas e exemplos. Ele cumpre o que promete quando diz que a técnica melhora a memória, concentração, comunicação, organização, criatividade e gestão do tempo. Cada um desses aspectos faz parte de um ou mais capítulos que tratam das diferentes aplicações úteis para qualquer um. Apesar de ser breve ao explicar os princípios, aqueles que são importantes para convencer o leitor à adotar a técnica são diretos e até óbvios. A natureza associativa (não linear) do cérebro e o rápido processamento visual são características fundamentais que são "manipuladas" pelo uso de mapas mentais. Tiro uma estrela pois a cópia física tem os exemplos em preto e branco (cor é fundamental na técnica), mas postei no site e me enviaram o arquivo colorido. Também achei a escrita "apressada", às vezes com alguns erros ou confusão de termos.

Simple to understand and very very practical!

I'm so happy I found this book because it explains how to create a visual picture of what needs to be completed in the form of a Mind Map. I felt like I was having memory issues, I could not stay focused on any one thing. I purchased many books on organization, time mgmt, stopping procrastination, and a few other books which had pages after pages of mind maps without instructions. Once I read this book and all the details of how to use a mind map I can definitely say, I do not have memory or focus issues. I just have too many things I am trying to remember to complete. It showed me how to focus on each task or issue I am trying to complete. For example I'm trying to declutter my house and it is overwhelming to look at everything in my house and where to start. I start in my room and head to the closet to put things away and start tackling something in the closet. My mind wanders and jumps from one thought to the next. In this Digital age it seems many feel overwhelmed, unfocused and procrastinate. I feel like there isnt enough time for everything. This book may be helpful for the person who feels overwhelmed with too many things to do and cant get things done. Or if someone does not know where to start on a big project, such as a wedding, vacation, starting a business or any big Idea, this book teaches how to lay things out, so you can see the big picture all on one page. Once I quickly read this book and created a mind map by dumping everything I had on my mind in their proper place, I realized, OMG no wonder I am overwhelmed, I'm trying to do too many things, and organize too many things at the same time. I felt a sense of relief once everything was listed in an orderly way so that I can see the whole picture! Then when I choose what I want to do I know where to start. If I get sidetracked, I can go back and look at my Mind Map, to get back on the correct road to my goal, vision or To-Do list. I highly recommend getting the actual book (kindle is ok, but I get distracted on the internet by other books or other things), highlight the areas which are important to you, and feel the relief of order in your life. I hope it helps.

Is interested in how your mind works then I think you will find mine mapping a helpful book and one that makes you question why and how you associate information in your brain
