The Leopard

前作Snowmanで死闘を繰り広げてボロボロになったオスロ市警のハリー・ホーレは香港の魔窟で呑んだくれていたところを、かつての上司の命令をうけた女性刑事カヤ・ソルネスに無理やり引っ張り出され、コンビを組んで連続女性殺人に取り組む。市警察に横槍を入れる政府直轄の捜査組織Kriposとの政争に巻き込まれ、昔の仲間が手を差し伸べてくれたかと思うと信頼した人に裏切られたりと苦悩の捜索が続く。スウエーデンらしく雪に埋もれた現場が巧妙に組み込まれる。ハリー・ホーレ シリーズの８作目だそうだが全部は英語版になっていない。作品はどれも５００頁を超える大作で、なかでもこの７４０頁は一息で読み下すのはちょっときついが、章の区切りは短く、歯切れの良い舞台回しで人物を深く書きこんだ内容はさすがと感心する。随所に直近のSnowman事件のトラウマが顔をだすので、あとから本書を手にとればハリーの人となりが一層身近に感じられるが、これだけでもさして不便でない。お勧めの傑作です。

A roller coaster ride, and a classic whodunit, littered with a load of false trails and red herrrings as you try and follow the writer through to the climax. And excellent read.

A great read by a great author.

Ich habe alle Bücher diese Reihe von Jo Nesbo gelesen, und ich mag Harry einfach sehr. Daher geällt mir auch dieses Buch wieder sehr gut. Naürlich haben die Fortsetzung nicht mehr den Vorteil das man ohne Erwartungen an das Buch rann geht, daher kommt einem das Erste immer am Besten vor, aber nichts desto Trotz sind auch die Fortsetzungen sehr gut, und es ist immer spannend Harry ein Schritt weiter zu begleiten in seinem Leben
