This 3.38 oz paste is a high-hold, low-shine miracle. Tames my wild hair into any style, smells like a vintage cologne dream, and laughs off rain. Flexible, not crunchy—perfect for looking sharp without trying too hard. My cousin’s jealous, but my hair’s unstoppable.

The pleasing odor is half the point! Unfortunately, mine doesn’t actually smell much at all. So that is a bummer but not a deal breaker. What’s important is how well it holds up my hair, and it does a dandy job, albeit not for very long. I’d compare the strength and longevity in hair with that of American Crew Fiber. Remember to rub the product in your hands until it warms up a bit, THEN distribute evenly in your hair and style. Otherwise this gets chunky and goopy. Love the tin. I’d love to insert a O Brother Where Art Thou reference here, but many clever folks already did that so, damn I’m in a tight spot.

The best product to keep your hair looks great a whole day

This is a good product. Don’t get me wrong. I like the smell. It’s not really citrus like it claims, but it smells good. The finish is truly matte with no shine. If you overload one spot, you might see a little sheen, but that’s on you, not the product. Even then, it never turns glossy. That said, I couldn’t give it five stars. First, a very minor thing. I didn’t take off a star for this, but it’s worth mentioning. The tin feels like aluminum, and yes, it bends easily. What happens when aluminum meets impact? Exactly. If you guessed that, here’s your gold star and juice box. During delivery, packages can get bumped around, so don’t be surprised if it shows up with a dent or two. Does that affect the product inside? No. If this is for personal use, you won’t care. If you’re buying this as a gift… good luck. Cross your fingers. Now the real reason I took off two stars. It claims high hold, but it isn’t. Compared to other styling products, this is more like medium, maybe medium-light. It’s not weak, but it’s definitely not high hold. I’ve seen other reviews say the same thing, and they’re right. I’ve been styling my hair in classic and pomade-based looks for years and have used plenty of pomades, pastes, clays, and gels. By those standards, this does not qualify as high hold. If you want a natural matte finish, easy application, and decent control, this is a solid product. Just don’t buy it expecting strong, all-day hold.
