Iodex

This product is great to treat or prevent skin infection in minor cuts, scrapes, or burns

Suggested by Dr to get a deeply embedded sliver in a finger joint to come to surface. IDK if this was the fix or simply time (30 days) was. Either way, the sliver came out, infection was kept at bay, and surgery was avoided by one day!

You can’t go wrong with Iodex. I’ve used for decades and can vouch that it remains the best antibiotic in the market. Harder to find as yrs go by. You can apply in all kinds of wounds, or abscess. It prevents bacterial growth, allowing the wound to heal much faster.

This is an amazing product that has been around for a long time. The purpose is to stimulate the process by which bruises and contusions are broken down and digested by the body. Iodine is the key ingredient. It’s a little pricey but a jar lasts and lasts, as you don’t need more than a dab. It’s a must for healing from falls and blows. Recommended!

I love this stuff! I have a long history of a red lump on my tailbone that was always inflamed. Diagnosis by my GP was a yeast infection. Tried several prescription meds to resolve problem. Did not go away. Went to a dermatologist. Diagnosed as a fungus infection. Yet another high dollar prescription medication used. Did not resolve the problem. Still red, inflamed, and uncomfortable to sit with any pressure on the area. Went to a new GP after old GP retired. Diagnosed as a Pilonidal Cyst. GP said surgery would remove and resolve problem. I started reading about what other people have done for their Pilonidal Cysts. Did not find any definitive solution but did get pointed to IODEX as an aid for many afflictions. I have seen remarkable success since using the Iodex. The inflammation is totally gone. The cyst is still there as I can see a white round bump but no pain when sitting or with pressure on the area. I have not experienced any side effects from using the Iodex except for the black slick on my underwear. The iodine seems to stain any fabric it rubs off on. Small price to pay for amazing results.

I've used Iodex all my life...I'm retired now, so it's been a long time. I was introduced to it by my father. It is a pain free way to get iodine on a wound and leads to fast healing. Another use is if you have a pimple that won't come to a head, put some on the pimple, cover with a band-ade, and wait a couple of days. I'd absolutely recommend this to everyone. The only reason for only 4-stars is because the product was sold to another company and reformulated quite some time ago. The new formula is more "waxy" then the original, but accomplishes the same goal. But, I prefer the way the original spread and transferred from your hand to wound. On the other hand, if you never used the original product, you won't know the difference. :)

I understand that Iodex has been manufactured since 1901(?). I grew up with my mother and my grandmother (DOB: 1897 & 1930, respectively) who, having used this product their entire lives, naturally used it on me (I was born in 1956). While Iodex has always been useful on small cuts and infections, it has always been most notably effective on reducing the size of and length of time bruises take to heal and especially on drawing out splinters or bringing boils and the like to a head so as to get rid of the underlying infection quickly and completely. While I always used Iodex growing up, the product, while infinitely more effective for the above uses than modern products, has become exceedingly difficult to acquire in stores - even before ordering via internet has put such a dent in retail sales. I hope this product continues to always be manufactured and available. While I assume this product is not a vast money maker, I believe that it could be if it were advertised on TV and in magazines with current marketing techniques. Nonetheless, I am extremely greatful for Baar Products and hope that they never stop manufacturing or selling this wonderful ointment. Additionally, I must thank Baar for their sales through Amazon. I received my order DAYS in advance of the estimated receipt date. They are an excellent company.
