D-A Coarse High Performance Coarse Cutting Foam Pad 2-Pack (7" Face, 6" Backing)

I recently wrote a review on the Rupes coarse compound. Used in conjunction with these pads, you can get wet sanding results. I have done paint scratch removal professionally for the last 21 years. I was told about this system about 3 years ago by colleagues in the industry. I held off until about 4 months ago thinking it was just a fad/scam. I now wish I had purchased it 3 year ago when I first heard of it. I’ve been using wool pads with a high speed buffer and the pads last forever. These pads don’t last nearly as long. Again, I do this for work. I blow through about one a week. The directions on the package say to use at least two pads and rotate them every 15 minutes. I don’t do this. I use one until it comes apart. I work outside in temps occasionally reaching 100 degrees. 115 on the black top. This greatly increases the temperature of the vehicles I’m working on. I feel like this reduces the life span of my pads. With that being said, they make me more money than they cost me which is the purpose of business. If you cut scratches for a living, you owe it to yourself to get these. If you’re a novice, it is much more difficult to burn paint with this system than the traditional high speed buffer. Long and short, try this system.

somethings up with these. when they first came out they worked and cleaned up great. lately they come apart after 5 or 6 cleanings and start throwing blue magnetized lint everywhere. 3M foam doesn't do this. I'm looking for a replacement for my shop.
