Still Life

This album has it's critics but I've always really liked it. Give it a go! The recently release Brussel Affair is worth a listen too.

I went to the concert and bought the LP, now I have the CD. Great price, lots of good stuff on there. I don't go in fo all this what is/was their greatest album stuff, give it spin and you'll be rocking away in no time. Fits in very well with all the other Stones discs that I've got, great to listen to in the car as well.

I can't decide between 2 or 3 stars. Went with 3 because I love The Rolling Stones. Still Life is the CD offering of The Tattoo You American Tour 1981. An interesting period in their career and the first tour to be billed and promoted as their farewell final world tour. but... Still life title is odd. Is it a parody of still live? As in they were considered old by 1981 (hard to believe but they were a considered a 1960-70's band). Writing this review in 2019 makes me laugh out loud as they are still touring. This gig was a set list of 25 songs long yet this CD offering gives nothing more than a snapshot of 10 selected songs. I don't know if this is because it was originally released on vinyl and record length restricted how many songs made the cut? This is typical of early CD releases that merely mirrored their vinyl and cassette counterparts with no additional benefit or value. What is stranger is the footage for The Hampton Court Palace gig and the Sun Devil Stadium, Arizona gig are very high quality as they were film recorded for a movie later called Let's Spend The Night Together. A quick YouTube of Rolling Stones Sun Devil Stadium Arizona 1981 will give you a better introduction to the tour and a handful of songs plus probably the best footage of the Stones I have ever seen. I'm really hoping the Sun Devil Stadium gig is released in its entirety by the band start to finish no editing on DVD to add to their From The Vault series. A quick online search of Sun Devil Stadium set list will give you the list of all 25 songs they performed that night. You can do the same search for any venue of the 1981 tour. Let's hope they release a full official offering in the near future. Until then this CD is great on first listen but it's over before you know it and leaves you wanting more. Probably the best version of Under My Thumb I've ever heard. Mick Jagger can still sing with melody and in key here in 1981 but only when he chooses to. I also like their rendition of Just My Imagination.

懐かしの音がしっかりと伝わってくる。 LPZ時代そのものの音。まあだけどこの時代だから音の軽さは仕方がないよね。 映画そのままの音が最高！キース・リチャーズの姿がまあ相変わらずのカッコよさがなんともいいね。 とにかくは本気で若い！楽しすぎ！！
