HyperX SoloCast – USB Condenser Gaming Microphone, for PC, PS4, and Mac, Tap-to-mute Sensor, Cardioid Polar Pattern, Streaming, Podcasts, Twitch, YouTube, Discord

After looking for an affordable mic and seeing many, but all had bad reviews. I stumbled onto the HyperX Solocast, after reading reviews and doing an internet deep dive, I read nothing but praise. I can wholeheartedly say that this mic lives upto the great reviews it has received. I use this for streaming, and the sound quality is fantastic, and it's plug and play; you don't need to download the app if you don't want the extra bloatware on your PC.

Great microphone, good voice quality for discord and gaming, have used this microphone and a decent non-gaming headphone set as this seems to be what the audiophiles recommend.

The HyperX SoloCast sounds great out of the box, is easy to set up, and has good quality, rich sound for the price. For under £50, it's well worth it. I like the size of the SoloCast, it's perfect for placing it on your desk for a video call, or any kind of recording - even without a boom arm (though I would recommend using one). It;s just over 7 inches tall with the removable stand, and the tilt and 90 degree rotation comes in handy. It's worth testing the audio quality out to see what suits your personal preferences, but the mic does a great job of capturing audio while at various angles and distances. The USB-C cable is what stood out to me, as it's a shame when microphones like the Blue Yeti are stuck with micro usb. The cable is a very decent length of about 2m, and you can always use another cable if you misplace it. The noise supression isn't amazing. As the stand isn't super sturdy, if you make any movements like typing on a keyboard or touching anything around the desk/boom arm/etc, this can be easily picked up by the mic. I find the tap to mute button especially useful here, as I can be typing away whilst on a call, and not have to worry about the sound interfering. I was torn between this or the Quadcast, which was significantly more expensive at the time I was shopping around - at least twice the price, if not more. If the price difference is only £20/30 then I would probably go for the Quadcast, as you get such features as the 4 polar patterns, shock mount, pop filter, gain control, headphone jack, etc. The SoloCast only records in cardioid, but this isn't a problem if you just need a fairly simple microphone. I haven't tested it out gaming yet, so can't speak to that, but with video/audio calls over the computer, it does a brilliant job. I've been using it for a few months now, and haven't had any issues. It's improved my set-up, and works perfectly.

Very good, gotten nothing but good words about my mic quality after buying this, though it does pick up EVERYTHING so you will probably need something to cancel background noise / isolate your voice. very easy setup just plug and play.

It's really good, coming from someone who is looking into youtube and sorts, this is very clear and you can use the Hyperx Ngenuity app on Windows 11 to alter the mic volume, using it on discord and for game and the noise cancellation is really good too, tap to mute is helpful.

Mic has great quality and seems to pick up sound from a decent distance away. Very good product compared to its price. If you're just looking for a microphone to play games or talk with friends with then this is perfect

This microphone is legendary. I have been using it for two years now and it is compact, and the sound quality is so crisp, I am baffled at how good it is.

Ik ontving helaas een gebruikt exemplaar, maar hij was compleet en functioneert goed. Ik moest hem alleen wel schoonmaken, want hij was een beetje vies. Prima microfoon met erg mooi en warm geluid. Je moet hem wel heel dichtbij hebben voor het perfecte geluid, denk aan max 15cm afstand. Als je hem verder weg houdt, wordt het geluid beduidend zachter en ga je (vanwege gain) steeds meer achtergrondgeluiden horen. Als je de meegeleverde standaard gebruikt, staat hij dus eigenlijk altijd te ver weg om echt beter te zijn dan bijvoorbeeld de ingebouwde microfoon van je laptop. Werkt zonder drivers etc. gelijk op een Mac en is beschikbaar in al mijn apps zoals Teams, Slack, en QuickTime.

O HyperX SoloCast é um microfone excelente. A qualidade de áudio é super limpa, o que faz toda a diferença para comunicação, seja jogando ou em chamadas com os amigos. É realmente plug and play: você conecta no PS5, Xbox ou PC e já está pronto para usar, sem precisar configurar nada complicado. Além de ser muito fácil de usar, ele funciona super bem e melhorou bastante minha experiência de comunicação durante os jogos. Recomendo para quem procura um microfone simples, eficiente e com ótimo custo-benefício. É isso, produto muito bom!

I got the mic for my ps5 and the sound quality is amazing and pairs perfectly well with my ps5. There is no noise cancellation though as it is a condenser but if you are on pc you can easily adjust it’s settings through a software.
