KSS-210A Optical Pick Up Lens Mechanism Unit Optical Lens CD/VCD Mechanism Replacement

Works very well installed in a Denon DCD 660. The player was skipping and would not play even slightly scratched discs. Now it is as good as new. I'm very pleased. Installation was not hard. Remember to remove the static protection solder.

The CD player now only plays the first section and then skips to the 6th section. I have cleaned and lubricated the rails with no avail. My guess is that the laser is misaligned. I have a 36-year-old Yamaha CDX 730 CD Player that stopped recognizing CD's. Yamaha stopped selling the original KSS-150A, but online it identified that the aftermarket KSS-210A would work as a substitute. After removing 13 screws the Optical Pick Up easily was installed. The only hang up is that this CD has a Phillip 000 screw on the last screw that holds a gear (not easy to remove) that needs to be removed to remove the old Optical Pickup. I have read that up to 80% of these Optical Pick-Ups don't work, so I guess this one is par for the course.

The item they sent me was used and not working at all. There were signs of usage on this optical lens. This like the third one they have sent me that has been defective.
