The four sides are meant to click together in the corners. While they do this after a fashion they're not particularly secure. So I've followed the advice of others and used cable ties, three x 300mm (12 inch) ties on each corner. These aren't expensive and the bin could be supplied with a dozen of them. The lid is slightly tricky to fit but not too difficult. The base is very slightly under 600mm x 600mm so hoping it will fit on a suitably sized large paving slab. Not sure this is necessary but it'll probably help prevent rodents burrowing in. The six plastic components are moderately flimsy but I've had other types of bin of a similar material and they seem to stand up well to weathering and wear and tear. Glad I won't have to carry my grass clippings so far but I'm wondering if I'll be able to compost them quickly enough to prevent the bin overfilling even with putting a bit of effort into mixing the contents with other waste and regular turning. At a bit over twenty pounds with p&p it won't hurt too much if I have to get one or two more.

Very happy with this product and also purchased a second one. It's easy to assemble with all the parts clicking into place and no tools needed. The only tricky part could be the lid but I watched a video saying that if you put the lid as if it's in a closed position and push down on each part then they soon click into place - and this has worked well both times. Both did arrive without much protection and both had some parts of the plastic snapped, but fortunately not in any crucial areas so they still work fine. They look nice and smart and are a good manageable size. So far they seem to be working well, although it's too early to have gotten any actual useable compost out of them so far. Would definitely recommend, especially for someone new to composting (as I was).

The item itself was easy to assemble. As others have commented, the lid required a little help from a flat bladed screwdriver. I would give it 4* I haven't put it in use yet but it looks like it will do the job for me. What let everything down was the carrier, Yodel. They claimed it was out for delivery on 4 different days. It eventually arrived a day later than the last date expected. If you want this in a hurry, buy from another seller.

I read the other reveiws and was a bit apprehensive but this is a great item. It comes in parts but trust me it is so easy to put together, You have 2 sides and a front and back that all slot together. Its straightforward, you can easily see the difference between the sides and back, and the front has an opening so you cant go wrong. The lid is a bit of hard work, we have now bought 2 of these the first one the lid took us about 15 mins to put on trying to lever the lugs into place with a flat head screwdriver. The second one we ordered a week later as we were so please and it took less than 5 mins to put together, when it came to the lid we just lined it up and applied a lot of downward pressure on the lugs one at a time and they snapped into place no problem. No everyone will have the strength to do that, but if you have its simple quick and easy. Its also a good size, previously we had a couple of those green salt/pepper shaped bins you had to lift to get the compost out of, somehow these look smaller, certainly neater, and they hold about 1 and half of the old ones. All in all please and glad we went for it

This arrived quickly and is a good size. The main container part of the bin was really easy to put together, but like others, I found the lid almost impossible. It certainly doesn't just 'click' in and I broke one of the hinges. Really badly designed! I got there in the end with the help of a tool. Would have given it a five star if the lid fitted on easily. Now it is up and ready it will do the job just fine and I'm pretty happy with it.
