Beard Oil (Bay Rum Scent)

A more detailed description given below... Grave before shave is my favorite beard oil and these are my favorite scents in order. 1. Cigar 2. Bay Rum 3. Bourbon So, I've tried several brands and scents and even the beard wax. After the numerous brands of beard oils I have stuck with the Grave Before Shave brand. Maybe it's just me but most all the brands out there come in bottles that look like they were made in the same factory. Some even seem to have the same product inside with maybe a different scent. But I can say that Grave before shave is as good or better in terms of scents and in terms of the quality of the oil. I've learned a few things since using beard oil that I'll share for what it's worth. 1. Don't apply beard oil with an expensive shirt on. I was in a hurry and thought I'd put a little on a ruined my shirt. I now apply right after getting out of the shower and have dried off. 2. Don't expect beard oil to be a miracle growth agent. While it doesn't hinder beard growth, I can't see that it helps either. 3. My personal method to apply is to fill the dropper full and apply a one drop at a time on the top edge line of my beard every 1" or so until I have worked my way all the way around to the other side. Then I massage it in. I don't know how you could apply one drop and get enough to work it into your beard thoroughly unless you have more face than beard. For what it's worth my beard is trimmed with a number 2 guard and sometimes a 3. 4. Beard oil does help with beard it. It stays in my beard for most of the day depending on how active I am. 5. Even though I don't believe beard oil helps growth, it does enhance the depth of color which makes a beard look tamed, rich, tight, clean and darker. Especially if you have a beard with red or lighter tones. 6. Because it is oil, be careful not to use too much with a high collar shirt. The oil can transfer to anything it comes into contact with. Including your wife's face if you go to kiss her. (True Story) 7. Not all beard oils scent last very long. Most last 20 min to 3-4 hrs. Very few last most of the day. The cigar scent and the bay rum are two of the best in this regard. 8. Beard oil and beard wax are very different in my opinion. The wax is more greasy to me and is a pain to dig your fingers into the wax to put into your beard. Wax does a better job of shaping while the oil does a better job of conditioning and defining. I don't care for the wax at all.

This stuff is awesome!! I can't recommend this highly enough. Been using this only a few days but it's changed my life! First Day: Put on this wonderful-smelling product and immediately noticed how much better I looked. I know the broads really dig it, too. As I was walking into my office all the hot chicks were totally eyeballing me. Once they got a whiff of this beard oil, it was easy pickings. The ladies were powerless against my advances as they were mesmerized by the smell and softness of my beard. I nailed two ladies during my lunch break and even had enough time to eat a slim jim and some crackers before heading back to the office to lay waste to my work. Second Day: While at a shopping mall I met some hot broad and immediately she commented on how manly my beard looked as she petted my goatee. Shortly thereafter I nailed her in my car in the parking lot. I KNOW it was the beard oil that put me over the top. I wish I'd asked her for her name or phone number, but there's more where that came from - now that I've got my beard oil! Third Day: Boss told me that I'm kicking major ass at work. He mentioned how my goatee is super manly now and that I deserve to have a 50% raise just for being so manly. I said thanks for the raise (long overdue) and immediately headed to the nearest bar to celebrate my victory. On the drive home, I was pulled over by the police, but after they noticed my beard awesomeness the officer gave me a high-five and let me go on my way. He said, "Please leave a few ladies for the rest of us" as I pulled away in my muscle car while doing a burnout (It's stick-shift of course). If you want to be a virgin and loser then don't buy this stuff. On the other hand, if you want to exude super manliness, look awesome, smell superb, have to fight your way through a pile of naked broads every day, have ladies willing strip naked for you, make more money, increase the length and girth of your manhood, and generally kick ass, then by all means, buy this stuff and start using immediately. Also makes a great cereal topping (not recommended for beginners)

This is hands down my favorite beard oil. The scent is amazing, my wife loves it, and it keeps my beard soft and manageable. I’ve tried a bunch of brands, but I keep coming back to Grave Before Shave. It’s lightweight, absorbs well, and doesn’t leave a greasy feeling. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a beard that looks and smells awesome!

Key points: Works well to help tame a dry, wild beard. Prevents itching, increases softness, helps manage flyaway hairs. Doesn’t have classic Bay Rum smell, but still smells great. Being an old Goth since the late 1980’s, I’m very into fragrances from oils. Especially the ones that have a Victorian feel, I would classify this beard oil as that. I was hoping for a classic Bay Rum fragrance. Instead it’s more slightly sweet and earthy, with a touch of floral. Even though it doesn’t have that Bay Rum spiciness it’s still smells great. Performance wise it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Like everything else don’t apply too much at once. Add a little bit at a time until you have full coverage.

I have recently decided to grow a beard. It happened almost by accident, as I decided to just not shave everywhere one day. I skipped the areas I tended to nick myself shaving, and here I am, months later, with a beard. It's not exceptionally long, but long enough to cause irritation, which for me is any length whatsoever. So I did some youtube research, and they were all suggesting beard oil, something I had never heard of. I hit amazon, and came across Grave Before Shave Bay Rum Beard Oil, and it seems that I hit a home run on my first time at bat. The scent is light, but excellent, and my girlfriend, who questioned my beard-growing ways, loves it. I put it on every morning, and use the GBS Bay Rum Beard Balm at night, for light control. A few drops are all it takes, especially with a shorter beard like mine. The feel of the beard is certainly smoother, and everyone seems to love the look and smell. I use 4 drops each morning and feel like a new man. Except mom. Moms never want their boys to grow up, and she's the sole detractor for this new hobby of mine. Oh well, can't win them all. 5 stars for quality, scent, feel and appearance. GBS also has a facebook presence, and they occasionally offer specials available on Amazon. For example, I picked up another oil and balm scent combination from them- just had to add both to the shopping cart, and they shipped me Bourbon scented oil for free when I bought the Bourbon balm. Great deals, great stuff, GBS!

I'm a little late to review this product as I got it last December, but oh well. I've never grown a beard until last year and this beard oil was a miracle. My beard was so itchy and every time I would itch it even the slightest bit, my face would start snowing on me. Not good... So I did some research and found out about beard oil. I went to Amazon and searched around for a little bit until I came to Grave Before Shave. All their products had great reviews and I loved the scents they offered as well as the design and concept of their brand. Decided to go with the bay rum beard oil. This stuff is so good! I'm still using it. I had kept a pretty short beard and also shaved some months into my beard and was clean shaven for about four months so that's why I still have the same one I bought originally, but it's just about out now. I'm planning on growing a beard over 2 months this winter and will be buying some newer scents from them. But for now, it has been a beard saver. The bay rum smells excellent, it softens my beard, moisturizes my skin underneath, gives a slight sheen to the beard that just makes it look clean and well groomed. I highly recommend the Grave Before Shave products!
