Fire Blanket Single Pack

Have had this product for a few years now and aside from them being smaller blankets than expected they are amazing quality super durable. The weight quality it perfect the folder and fit great in the bags. With graphics on the back of the storage bag making it easy for a child or adult to follow instructions. The black taps simple give them a pull and the blanket comes out providing safety and peace of mind. The hole in the top center of the bag allows for easy hanging in stairways or where ever you amy need to hang it. We have been blessed with never having to use them but it we ever do I have confidence that these will do the job. Great value

I have always kept at least 2 fire extinguishers around for safety. The problem is they are usually past their expiration date long before a person needs one. Anyone who's used one knows the white powder makes a horrible mess, plus a possible health risk to people and pets. These don't expire and for the average kitchen fire should work well. Despite some package claims, they are a one use product. Not only are they cheaper than a fire extinguisher but minimize clean up. I don't recommend them as a replacement for fire extinguishers but are an excellent first-use product.

I'm 74 years old. I bought this fire blanket last year and I'm so glad I bought it! Last night I was having trouble with getting avocado oil out of a bottle and unbeknownst to me, some had gotten into the burner pan. Then tonight when I had some broccoli on to boil, it suddenly burst into huge flame from the oil in the burner, as tall as the pan. This blanket was right by the stove so my brain already had thought about how to use it in an emergency so I quickly threw it on top of the flaming pan. It took about 1.5 minutes for the flames to smother. I was so grateful the fire was quickly put out, as things were nearby (potholders) that could have caught and spread the flame. Maybe I'll get another one of these things! You can see the burn marks on the blanket, but it can be used again. The only downside is now I have bits of fiberglass on my fingers, but I'll live with that! (The fiberglass fibers worked their way out of my fingers after a couple of hours)

Reviewing because I finally "got" to use this. Worked to keep an oven fire from spreading and got rid of smoke coming through the oven vents! That's pretty good! 4 stars because I got fiberglass shards really close to my eyes after using this and was just lucky that none got in my eyes!!!! So, when you use this, beware that you'll have fiberglass embedded in you and floating all over the floor / counters / and air from opening this, so if you have a few seconds to think through it, try to be a little careful in how you touch this thing and don't do what I did and just quickly shake it open! You'll risk a doc visit. :/

I am a firefighter and had seen the amount of damage a fire extinguisher causes inside a house. I honestly believe the fire extinguisher causes much more damage than extinguishing a fire by cutting off the oxygen. Don't get me wrong I still have fire extinguishers throughout my house but I would absolutely go for one of these fire blankets first. The two pack of these blankets cost a fraction of what one fire extinguisher costs. This is a no brainer to have in the kitchen and the garage. The blanket seems to of good quality. There is a velcro bottom on the sleeve and pull straps that provide an easy point to deploy the blanket. There is a nice grommet on the top of the pouch where I simply screwed it into my cabinet and wall. The blanket inside has some weight to it and it would easily cover a stovetop. There are two handles on the blanket which allow you to spread the blanket out in quick order.

I never thought my pan of Olive oil would ignite on it's own while heating up. I just wanted to get my onions chopped to add to the pan and when I turned the whole pan was in flames. My blanket was handy and had the fire out in seconds. No damage to the microwave above the stove or any cabinets. I bought one for the house, one for the RV, and one for each of my children. Such a small price to pay to prevent extensive or disastrous outcomes.

I haven't had to use this and hopefully never will, but just having it by my stove eases so much tension.

It worked! One hopes they never have to use one of these but we had a craft fire (candle wax that wasn’t melting in the microwave & that you aren’t supposed to use a double-boiler) on the stove, with billowing flames that were getting bigger every second , I keep this fire blanket in the kitchen so it was easy to grab & it worked just like it’s supposed to. They can only be used once so this time I am ordering more!
