The right amount of robot
Our floors are much cleaner now that we run this machine every few days. Because we have it, we are mindful of cords, cat toys and other items on the floor that could tangle it up, so its presence also kind of enforces a level of tidiness. This machine does not learn quickly, it is not using satellites and cameras to map the shifting topography of our home, and I am happy with that. What it does is wander from room to room in an apparently random fashion, and it always finds dirt. It eventually seems to go over the entire floor. We have two cats who find it loud and unpleasant, but also fascinating. They stalk it from covert locations, calculating the balance of the predator/prey relationship. Someday, they may attack it, but if that happens, I think the Roomba will survive. Cons: Somewhat loud - It is as loud as a normal vacuum cleaner Needs supervision - It can't be left running home alone, because it gets stuck under furniture from time to time. It sometimes makes mistakes that could endanger its life. I block it from entering areas where it could fall off of a cliff, because in spite of the cliff detection feature, I think it might very well fall off a cliff if given the chance. Only one phone allowed - The phone app seems to allow for only one phone per user, so only one member of the household can command the vacuum from the phone app; not a big deal for me because I just push the button on the top of the Roomba and it takes off. Pros: It vacuums the house frequently. I am never going to do that. It has the work quality of maybe a ten year old who was asked to vacuum the house--but unlike a ten year old, it is persistent. The suction is good, it gets diirt out of deep rugs and it does well in the corners. It is able to get over thresholds and it is fine around our cat dishes- pushes them a little bit but then backs away.

Great entry level robot vacuum
Our normal vacuum broke and I decided to try a robotic one this time around. Didn't want to spend too much but I knew I wanted a name brand one so I bought this little Roomba 692 and it's great! Unlike more expensive ones, this one doesn't do any sort of mapping of your home, so it sorta just aimlessly bumps around until it runs out of battery at which point it returns to its docking station. That said, this is a perfectly good approach in our single story home and across two cleaning cycles gets pretty much everything. I was worried it wouldn't be very strong due to the price but the suction and overall vacuuming ability of this little guy is definitely top notch! It got stuck in the closet once but after blocking that off so it wouldn't go in there again I had no issues. Our floors are a mixture of carpet and hard vinyl or something. It has no trouble going over cords without getting stuck and doesn't get stuck on the transition from the vinyl flooring in the kitchen to the bump onto the carpet which is nice. Be sure to empty it after each run as it does pick up a lot of dirt and dust - it's pretty much full in just a single battery charge. Build quality seems good and it seems like it will last a long time. I couldn't be any happier with this purchase!

Fantastic with one exception
Even with a few flaws, this product is well worth the price and certainly makes my house cleaner than when I have to do my own vacuuming! I have four cats and one dog, and so my house is filled with pet hair. I've had this Roomba for 9 days and I've run it every day and it is still picking up dirt and pet hair every day, and my floors look great. I love that it works well on both my carpet and linoleum floors, including where I have throw rugs! I have one rug that is a little too thick so the Roomba doesn't climb up on the rug, but the others are no problem. The Roomba will go over my throw rugs with no problem. However, the one main complaint I have is the line where my carpet and linoleum meet. I do not have a wood or metal threshhold between the carpet and linoleum, just the carpet ends and linoleum starts. The Roomba goes from one to the other great, but it leaves a line of pet hair along the edge of the carpet. So after two or three days, I have to go along the edge of the carpet with my fingers or my other vacuum and collect the growing gathering of pet hair. But it is still WAY better than having to vacuum all the time. Granted, Roomba is still a round robot in a square world, but it does a surprisingly good job of getting the dirt and pet hair out of the corners of my house. Not perfect, but again, well worth it for the rest of the work it does. Battery life is about what it says - approximately 90 minutes of vacuuming. I've had to clean out the brushes twice already, but again I have a ton of pet hair, and it's easy to clean out the brushes, so again, well worth it. I'd rather take a few minutes a couple of times per week to clean the Roomba than spend an hour or two per week just trying to keep up. I dump the dirt canister every day which is very easy to do. Note I don't have any stairs or "cliffs" in my house, so that hasn't been an issue, and once it ate the charging cord for my cell phone, but it stopped and told me an error message, and I rescued my charger cord with no problems or damage. Overall, I'd buy it again with no hesitation. If I had another floor in my house I'd buy another one for that floor. I set mine to run in the afternoons while I'm at work, and I love coming home to a clean house!

Best carpet vacuum robot still working and bought 2022
I am writing to share my feedback regarding the robot vacuum I purchased in 2022. So far, I am very pleased with its performance. It does a great job, and I love how nice my carpets look. Additionally, I found the installation to be easy and the disposal process very convenient. Thank you for providing such a helpful product.

It is my first robot vacuum, so take that into consideration, it is finicky sometimes, meaning it there is no specific patterns where it goes, keeps bumping everything until it clears the way, I think it's 'face' got scratched all over within the first 3 weeks of usage, but that's pretty much all the downsides, it vacuums well, with a very good power, of course do not think that it can replace your thorough proper cleaning, but it definitely can prolong non-cleaning days by a week or two. To me personally, it is in top 5 purchases ever made, such a huge time saver, honestly, if you have a little baby, maybe a pet, work full time, just get the vacuum, you will not regret, my plan is to upgrade this one in a year or two, because now I am even lazy to clean it (i want to get one with a station) and later robot mop, what do you say, future is now

I received my iRobot Roomba 692 robot earlier than expected and it's been operating daily without any problem. Great product and totally smooth vendor experience.

The manual is too generic and when you use the app there aren’t enough details in the manual to help. There was supposed to be a card in the package with details but was missing. In terms of cleaning it’s functional but not good with small spaces and sometimes goes around in circles ignoring parts of the room. So clearly not good at learning

It’s a great little starter product, it’s does a good job on floors but seems to struggle a bit on a rug. The dust collector is small so you’ll practically have to empty it after every run, though it’s super fast and easy to do. I would suggest wearing a face mask when emptying the dust bin if you’re allergic to dust like me… Overall I am happy with the purchase. Reduced one star because of the noise - it’s not terribly loud but at the same time it’s not quite either. 1 thing I find annoying is that it seems to get stuck under my bed’s headboard. I am not sure why, probably the location and height of my particular bed so I can’t really blame the Roomba for it. Even though it’s automatic and whatever but I still like to run it when I can see it what it’s doing.. because it once knocked off my big planter that’s on a wooden stand. Somehow that happened 😆 the plant survived tho.
