SD Fire Alarms Ei3016, 230 V, White

Industry standard smoke and heat alarms. These are real nice bits of kit, easily installed 'DIY' style if you know what you're doing - if any doubts get a qualified electrician (I installed 3 smoke & one heat alarm). I like the fact these have lithium batteries offering a 10 year stint - no more battery changes. The life expectancy is printed on the product. Mine are wired into the mains electric; if there's a power outage the lithium battery takes over giving constant coverage. This model comes with an 'interconnect' system - if one kicks off all the others do too. Nice quality and they look real good and are dead easy to test; just press the 'middle' - make a massive noise. I gather these don't 'yellow' over time. Fabulous peace of mind at a great price.

These alarms were easy to fit. Instructions are clear and there are plenty of options to pass the wiring through various punch out holes in the side and base.

Easy to wire and program - took only minutes for the 4 I set up - they are quality made and I would consider them being top of the range - as I result them don’t come cheap - would I recommend- yes - they have been fitted a few months with no false activations - the app is user friendly and gives you a wealth of information (mostly nice to know information but some useful information ie if they have been tampered with, date and time of activations)

This is a replacement for EI 151TL. My old system of two hard wired interconnected alarms must be 20yrs old and inherited with the house and started to give false alerts. Therefore after a little investigation on the Aico Web site found that this is the replacement. However, the old detectors were square and these are round, plus the Ei3016 only has 1 negative terminals whereas the old had 2 negative terminals (1 for the internal battery). Plus the old detectors had a factory interconnected terminal block and the Ei3016 has a standard terminal block, so where does the secondary negative go??? (REMEMBER TO SWICH OFF YOUR POWER / CIRCUIT FROM THE CONSUMER UNIT OR FUSE BOX) Well, it goes nowhere, it must be removed. When you remove the old baseplate the two negatives connect to the negative circuit loop and can be removed from any terminal blocks you have present. However, if you are a novice with any electrics make sure you fully identify your circuit (red/brown should = live, blue/black should = negative, green and yellow = earth, plus white or grey for any interconnected circuit) if you DON'T an earth IMMEDIATELY Speak to your electrician! When installing also make sure it's secured and use fixing plugs or that the screw grabs the ceiling rafter behind any plasterboard. You may need to buy 6amp terminal blocks and 3 core and earth cable so that your circuits are connected, You should only need less than 6 inches of cable per detector, these then fit and are wired into the Ei3016 easily after removing the wire protection plate. Tighten all screws, and return the wire protection plate and slightly slide and click on the detectors, switch your electric back on at the fuse box. Simple to fit on a modern circuit. It has a built-in battery backup and allows interconnection.

It's good replacement. Didn't change the old base plate as it not necessary so no wiring.

Bought as replacement for old out of date detectors. Easy to unclip old one and replace. Newer version doesn't need batteries

Fitted 2 No. good units, connection base can be used again when replacing alarm, saves re connecting wiring.
