Excellent Product
I fit this new seal to a 1961 Chris Craft 17-ft runabout that I’m restoring. I had to make a few modifications to the frame over the shaft log, but it fits!

It ain't cheap, but I seemed to have installed it properly the first time.
The original packless prop shaft seal on my Swedish sailboat (Maxi 95) was wearing out, and I could not find anything like it on the US market after an extensive search, but this one showed up in one Goggle search so I bookmarked it, as it essentially did the same job in a different way. So, when I gave up and launch time was approaching again, I made the purchase of a 1-1/2" stern tube, 1" shaft version. It is hefty in the hand and looks worth a few bucks. Honestly, the hardest part of the installation process was gaining the courage to begin, and the next hardest part was getting off the old seal. OK, maybe the hardest part was not dropping the set screws in the deep narrow bilge below as they would have been out of reach without my long magnetic retriever stick, stored in an unknown location back at home. Actually, the deep and narrow bilge made setting the proper bellows compression a bit of a challenge, but we got it done. Other than that, mounting was straight forward, and at launch, no drips were seen at the initial immersion check. Needing some run in time, I took it out for a 30 minute spin at various rpm instead of my usual 5 minute trip to the dock to start boarding the winter haul off, and returned without the automatic bilge pump activating. Eventually, I added a clamping collar to the shaft in front of the PSS' shaft collar as a positioning backup. Yes, I'd buy it again.

The product was exactly what I expected. It's easy to install. I haven't used the boat yet as we haven't launched for the year but I know PSS has quality products so I'm not concerned.
