GM Late Replacement Lock Cylinder for Toolbox Retrofit Kit

Despite the vehicle finder saying that my truck key would not fit, it did indeed fit a 2019 F150 side cut key. This was a replacement for a leer top key that was previously fitted for a late model Chevy. Worked great, simple programming, no fuss. Was a bit of a challenge to figure out how to replace the old lock cylinder as it had a cam on it. The rusty c-shaped bracket (under center bolt-like center of lock cylinder) just needs to be tapped off with a flathead screwdriver and the cam comes right off. Picture of the old one inside of the cam provided for reference. I will be buying two more for the side locks!!!

Really happy with the locks. I keyed them with a 2008 ford and they worked like a charm. I bought it for a Leer truck cap as I was having problems finding a replacement key. It was a one to one replacement and I have three fully functioning locks now all functioning with one key. 10/10 would recommend

The item said they fit A.R.E caps and they do fit in the hole, however they won’t turn the level because the factory locks have a tab at 45 degrees and these are 90 degrees. Don’t waste your time if you need them for an A.R.E cap. They are super easy to key but now I’m stuck with them as they have been keyed.

These Bolt cylinders are for Bolt products and possibly other things like truck toppers, truck toolboxes (if you buy the Bolt handle lock assembly) or to replace the Bolt cylinders in something you kept when you sold your old truck so you can now match the key of your new truck. I had several Bolt products with my previous F250, so let some of those go when I sold the truck since you can not re-key these locks. Once they are keyed to the first lock, that's it! They can't be rekeyed again. But if you have let's say a truck toolbox and you want to keep it, you simply swap out the lock cylinders to a compatible cylinders for your next truck and key the cylinders to the new key truck and you're back in business. Which is what I have done. For reviews showing how they don't match their current Door, ignition, etc locks. Those are from folks who didn't read about what this product is and what it can do and is for. Disregard those reviews. This is a great product, I've used this product line on Jeeps, Ford F-250 truck, my boat trailer, trailer, and now Ram 2500 - using several of their product line! And have not had a single failure of any of their product solutions. When I've shown friends and neighbors that I only carry one key (not one in FOB - I had regular key made without chip for ease of use) they look at me like they just saw a miracle!

Excellent! 1. Remove Old Cylinder Take Measurements. 2. Find correct measurements. 3. Choose what type of key you will be working with 4. Install it 5. Insert key and Turn. Installation for 3 took 20 minutes.

Does not come with locking nut.had to modify the cap off the old locks to work right,and file down the lip on the inside.also does not include caps and clips.

Worked perfectly to replace a failed lock on my ARE cap. Going to snag a couple more just to keep them on hand as my truck has 3 of these and the fact they self key to the ignition key in a second, makes it that much better.

Bought 3 as replacements for a LEER cap. Worked well, no issues.

I have 3 of these on the topper on my truck and 2 have stopped working in the first year. Also, be careful that you have the correct one when you order. Go right to the bolt locks website to find the correct part. I ordered this one because it literally shows a picture of my exact key, but it doesn’t work. I need the center cut, not the side cut.

Worked perfect for my A.R.E DCU cap. Changed 5 locks and set them to my 2018 f150 keys in under 1/2 hour. If you are swapping the cylinder locks remember to keep the old cylinders as you need the old gaskets and some hardware off them. Local A.R.E dealer wanted to charge $50 per and $250 labour

Prefect for the A.R.E. cap that work has for me. When the old cylinders started locking up, these fit right in. The first one I received did not code properly, but after letting Amazon know, I was able to return it. The next two cylinders coded without problem, and I have another on the way.
