It's a great little starter kit to get you going. Some items will more than likely be throw away due to the poor quality but most will last until you can upgrade.The edge tool and skiving knife are of no use. Poorly designed and won't last very long. The ending tool is similar to a tool I have in my finger nail kit for trimming cuticles.The Japanese straight knife is very rough on the edge. It badly needs to be honed then stopped to give a proper edge to it.The needles will do for very thin leather but if you are working anything thicked you will need to use the awl. Awl.is really cheap.Punches are pretty decent and no complaints so far.I would recommend buying some wax for the string and edges. The slicker is made of light wood but will donthe trick.Throw the leather you get with the kit in the bin. It's plastic.Mats are good but might need a bigger size eventually.The "sanding belt" is just a finger nail file with same grit on each side. Just buy sand paper.Comes with a few finger cots which are pretty small but I can't see much use. If you get dyes just buy rubber gloves.In all its an ok kit to get started on.

The only good things in here are the thread and the tiny piece of leather. the needles are not strong enough for leatherworking, the awl and other hole punchers are not sharp enough. On top of that everything was covered in some sort of grease, which also smelled a bit, not a leathery smell, more like gasoline. I tried to make a wallet but the snaps and rivets are crooked. Very disappointed not worth the money.

Better kit on the market

Where to start.The white plastic block has just been run through a saw with no attempt to clean up the edges and it isn't quite square.The pinwheel has missing points and inconsistent sized teeth.None of the "sharp" items have any sort of edge to them so would all need to be sharpened and stropped to get an edge that probably wont last.Several of the small tools, ruler and test material are missing.Sending back for a refund.

Bought for an Xmas present, loads of pieces missing, very disappointing

All the tools sold in this kit are bad quality. Save yourself money and purchase the items individually, research what you need and find them on other sites, you'll save money! Very unhappy with this. Please refund me my money!!

Everything is covered in thick layer of smelly grease. The tools are cheap and useless

This is a good starter kit, nice for when you're exploring to see if leathercraft is for you. I got a bunch of leather free and wanted a kit to try out making things from it. I may decide to buy more tools, once I know what I'm doing -- but these are just perfect for now. This would make a good gift for someone who's searching for a new hobby.

good beginner's kit

Mon 1ère avis étais d'une étoile, après un avis pris chez un professionnel (sellier/tapissier), je reconsidére ma note.Oui, si je continue le travail du cuir je devrais racheter de matériels, j'estime qu'il y as quelques manque, mais si je continue pas....
