Nice drive cage with a place for a fan.
I have a couple of these. First thing, you must install a fan for these. If you have three drives and have space between them, it might be OK but I wouldn't recommend it. One drive on top, one in the middle and one on the bottom. Drives may run a little warm. You should monitor the temps tho, using SMART or some other tool. If you plan to have drives close together, you must install a fan to cool the drives. I have a fan installed even when I only have two drives in the cage. I like my drives to run cool. You can buy a SATA to fan connector. You can also buy a adapter that takes one SATA power connector to 6 SATA connectors. You use one power connector for the fan and the other five for the drives. That's how I do mine. The metal is fairly strong. Once assembled, it is a pretty solid cage for what it is to be used for. I don't mount mine inside a case tho. Mine are used to house backup drive sets. I connect the SATA data cables, the power cable, which also powers the fan and then I can access the drives. I have one cage that houses 16TB and 20TB drives. Massive storage. These cages make it easy to organize the backup drives. I have thought about adding a handle on top for my use. The drives mostly sit in a fire safe. These are good cages even with the way I use them. If mounted in a computer case as intended, they should perform even better. Oh, you can also screw the plastic slides to the drives if you want to keep them from falling off. I just hold them in place until I slide the drives in since I rarely remove the drives. These are really good cages if you need to mount several drives.

Fits well, be aware of supports on your case.
I had to cut the supports in my case to make this fit as it fills more than one slot. Not a big deal. Was easy to put together, very vague instructions and none of the labels matched up. Just follow the picture diagram. Fan mounted easily and everything fits well! I couldn't be happier. Very affordable and was easy to mount. Ignore how it's not flush in my setup, it can mount flush. I have a sound deadening case so it needs to sit back to get airflow.

Works well
I needed something to hold drives. This was the least expensive, legitimate option. Once assembled, it is surprising solid. The top and bottom plate are thicker that I expected and it does not "flex" all. The HDDs slide in perfectly; it's not like glass and ball bearings - but nothing touches the actual HDD. The depth is perfect, and there is a definitive "end" when inserting the drive, you don't have to approximate. Airflow ... I'm not a scientist, and I'm not sure if these HDDs have temp sensors I could watch, but 5 drives in this seems very tight. I've done it, they fine, but I wasn't sure about airflow - and I only really need 3 big drives right now - so that's how I set it up. Oh, and I snuck another SSD in-between. Functions perfectly. Looks - well it is meant to be inside of something, but even if you have it in the open it doesn't look bad (like something you 3d printed etc). The directions were not extremely specific, and I had to mount, remount the plastic guides multiple times... They could actually work 2 different ways. I also had to take the entire thing apart because I put the top/bottom plate on backwards. Ideally I would have more than 1 screw per plastic-guide. There are faux screws that insert into the other screw holes, but the guides can be slightly not perfect-straight... regardless it's fine. It's working well for me right now, and I may buy another once I figure out what to put this inside of long term (maybe a very small PC case. You won't be disappointed.

Perfect HDD cage for my needs
I needed a cage to add additional 3.5” HDD to a PC case that only had room for 3 drives. I’ll easily be able to secure this cage in my case with a few screws in the extra holes on the bottom of the cage (I might use a double sided adhesive though, haven’t decided yet). It has a removable mount/shroud for a 120mm fan to cool the drives. I could ask for anything more for the price. Come disassembled but it’s easy to put together.

Gets the job done but takes effort.
Works as intended. Didn't realize I'd be fastening TWENTY screws just to assemble the cage...and that's before adding any drives! When attaching slide rails to my hard drives, the included screws didn't match the thread size of the drives' mounting holes. Had to use extra screws I've accrued over the years for that part. WARNING: If your case has support tabs in each 5.25 drive bay (i.e. to make installing optical drives easier), you'll have to bend them out of the way to make room for this cage (which is a pain). Wish the designers of this cage would update the design to work with those tabs.

it work very goos
perfect. if you have trouble lining the plates up and threading in 10 screws… just because the instructions are improperly labelled- well, you have bigger problems than assembling highly functional junk gotten at bargain basement rates. the pictures are plenty. drives slide in and out snugly and nicely. i had to modify the fan grate, drilling holes so i could mount the whole assembly to an existing case fan. an absolute steal for $20. solved my problem of old archive and digital media internal HDD drives sitting on my shelf, that i need quicker access too.

Missing parts
Extremely disappointed in this. Item just arrived today. It was the last part I was waiting for to finish my NAS build. Opened the box to find it was missing ALL of the plastic drive retainers. Now I have to re-order it and wait to see if the next one comes with them.. So frustrating..

Love it
I like to build my computers in a open air style. No case. Therefore, I need a way to mount my HDDs. This cage is perfect and assembled quickly. It even has room for a fan to keep the HDD cool.

The add says stainless steel, the product is not stainless steel, it is galvanized steel. Misleading material. Probably paid more for this this misleading add.

So this cage is exactly the same width as the 5.25" bays it's meant to fit into. That's great and all but assumes all PC cases have no supports in each bays to allow droves to allow kit to be slid in. My Corsair case does, I expect most cases do? So check your case and see if you have supports that reduce the usable width below 5.25".
