Franklin CWM109 Collins Crossword Solver

Works like a charm, but one side of the place for batteries seemed small and it took a bit of pressure to get the batteries in the case.

It is not as easy as the unit by the same company that it replaced in my house and I wish it were bigger for both my eyes and fingers, but it's good and a good value.

It is great but smaller than I thought. We had and earlier version that was much bigger. Got it for my 86 year old mother. She really likes it. The screen is big enough to read clearly for her, the keys are pretty small.

I previously owned a Franklin CWP-206. This has so many physical and usage features that I love. By contrast, the 109 is virtuously useless. -The screen and the buttons are too small to easily read and push. - It is very difficult to open the lid without inserting a sharp object. - The top is not removable. - Too many features for a 'crossword solver' making it difficult to negotiate. Additional buttons required to be pushed to activate and use the crossword function. After using it for several weeks, I still do not feel comfortable using it, and most often revert to my 206 for its ease of negotiating. I would return it in a heartbeat except for the difficulty of packaging, mailing, etc. Jerry

It does what it is supposed to and I use it mainly for crossword puzzles. I wish it was bigger and had a built in Dictionary. I gave it three stars because of this. Otherwise it is and very good puzzle aid and the price is right. I could only find one with these features at a much higher price.

I bought this for a sister of mine who is a crossword junkie, from her report it is easy to use and furnishes all the information she needs.

My wife loves it. I find it a bit small. The delivery from eTwist came much sooner than predicted by Amazon.

At times the buttons must be pushed repeatedly to get a response, but eventually it does move on to the next answers.

Good, compact crossword solver and dictionary which I have purchased to replace an existing Franklin one I have had for at least 10 years. It is taking a little while to get used to as the keys are slightly different, but in all other aspects it functions just as well as the old one.
