These fans do exactly what they were designed to do. They blow massive quantities of air.

Good value for the price

Easy to install and quite sturdy. It moves a lot of air, it could double as a leaf blower. However, it does get noisy at high speeds.

This thing sounds about the equivalent of a loud vacuum cleaner. I'm using it for a homemade air cooler and I was hoping it would just be like a white noise machine or just a bit louder - but it's too loud to sleep in the same room with it, or even really tolerate when awake. Maybe it would work in a shop/garage or for someone who didn't have sensitive hearing. Otherwise, it's a nice, high powered blower, and probably works great for it's actual intended purpose.

I used this for my low lying fog machine. It works great. It is designed to run off a battery, but I spliced it to a power adjuster with a plug in, and have had no issues.

Granted I bought this fan for an alternative use, making a custom carbon air filter where I needed a quiet in-line blower fan that could move 270cfm or so. But what I found was this fan motor is definitely not the "ultra-quiet" it is so heavily advertised as. With ambient 42 decibels I measured this fan at full bore 12.1v, 54w, a screaming 91db. It's easily as loud as a hair dryer. It moves a lot of air and if its buried in your boat's engine room you probably wont notice much but if you're looking for a truly quiet blower fan you might look elsewhere. On the plus side it does move a lot of air, in fact I measured 520cfm, almost double what was advertised. This was with no ducts connected which probably improves air speed from their measurements.

all good the product is genuine and working fine

My old used 1990 cabin cruiser came with a decrepit and siezed-up Attwell blower when I bought it in 2021. I managed to get it running again with some oil on the bushings but it was always a bit noisy. I decided to replace it this year and had good experiences with SeaFlo products before so I chose this one even though it wasn't the very cheapest. I was a bit worried when a reviewer said it was noisier than they expected, but I found that not only does this unit push a lot more air that my old 4" Attwell, but it is quiet enough that a passenger on my boat yesterday worried I had forgotten to run the blower before starting the engine, even though he was sitting directly over the engine bilge. Also I was lucky that the new SeaFlo mounting holes lined up with the old Atwell ones so I didn't need to drill new holes in my transom.

Unit works good. Moved air as I require. Put rheostat to control air movement. Little on noisy side running at full speed.
