Book2 English - Danish For Beginners: A Book In 2 Languages Review: A good theaching book. - My wife (who come from Thailand) like it very much. So the book where not for me. But we think it was a bit expensive, but that was the transport, which was the reason. Review: Useful beginner's supplement with available audio files - All the books in this Goethe Verlag series have the same "lessons"--in a multitide of languages. The book does not itself teach grammatical principles or rules; rather each page has two columns of topical phrases--English and the Danish, starting with very basic units (the grandfather - the uncle, etc.). The great advantage of the series is that a downladoable audio file of all the lessons is available for free online (search under book2). This is especially useful for Danish, which is one of the languages whose spelling does not simply reflect how the words are pronounced. In the audio files, each phrase is said twice--so you can try to match the speaker on the repetition, which makes it easier to memorize how the phrases sound.
