I was looking for higher video quality than RCA cables provide, but didn't want to spend the outrageous amount the electronics stores charge for s-video. I tried this cable because of the incredibly low price. So far, it seems to work fine; no complaints. I haven't compared it side-by-side with a more expensive s-video cable, but it does provide a better picture than the RCA connection. It is described as "gold plated," but I find nothing to indicate it is more than "gold colored"--a minor annoyance in the advertising. Anyway, if you're a novice like me, it is definitely worth the price.

These are hard to find these days, when you need em, you need em. Works great, high quality

Garbage, did not work. Cannot be returned. Does not appear to be gold plated as the description indicates, there is a legal disclaimer stating it is silver plated. Who knows, who cares? Look elsewhere even if it costs a little more.

This S-Video cable is great. Durable but not too stiff and the plugs look very sturdy.
