Staple in Our Routine Since She Was a Newborn (Smells Fishy—but She Loves It!)
We’ve been using Nordic Naturals Baby’s DHA since my daughter was about a month old—she’s now 16 months—and we’ve purchased it four times so far. It’s a regular part of our weekday routine (we always seem to forget on weekends!), and I feel good knowing she’s consistently getting her omega-3s and Vitamin D3. When I first researched DHA for infants, I was struck by how often it came up in studies related to brain development, cognitive function, and vision support. While I’m not a scientist, I really do believe this has made a difference in her development—especially in how quickly she learns and her overall attentiveness. One thing to note for fellow parents: this does have a very fishy smell. I was a little concerned at first, but to my surprise, my daughter loves the taste and never resists taking it. That’s been a huge relief. Overall, I highly recommend this. It’s easy to give, high-quality, and has become a trusted part of our early development toolkit. P.S. There was one time when the dropper stopped working, but thankfully my husband had saved and cleaned a dropper from a previous bottle, so we were able to swap it out without any issues. It’s a good idea to hang onto an extra, just in case.

Good DHA, but smell too strong
Second time I buy this DHA for my baby, I feel it help for health and brain so I keep continue. Only thing I really dont like is smell, very fishy. One time drop on my baby shirt, I wash many time still not go away. Kind of scary but also mean oil is strong concentrate. Overall I still give 5 star

Good to use as extra calories for baby!
This is something that you choose to use, but won't know if it is effective. My baby does not have any immediate negative reactions to this as long as I mix 1 ml with at least 1 oz of breast milk. As far as whether or not it's working.. who knows? I won't even know if it worked when he is older because I have no control subject to test on. Is this a waste? I don't know. Is it useful? I don't know. Is it expensive? Yes, especially if you use the full dose. Would I buy again? Probably, just "in case" it works. I need to get into the baby business. Update on 2/11/2016: Increasing my rating from 3 to 5 stars The first bottle I purchased was used for a few days (mixed with 1 oz of breast milk) and then it sat untouched. I tossed it after a few months. However, once my baby turned 10 months old, his weight dropped below his curve and our pediatrician recommended I feed him canola oil here and there to increase his calories. I thought that was pretty disgusting so instead I fed him avocado daily for a month and also purchased this baby dha again (about 20 cals per 2 ml dose). My baby loves his baby dha and he will take it straight from the dropper. He increased half a pound in a month and we are going in for his 1 year visit this weekend (he will be 12.5 months). I feel he is heavier so I hope the scale reflects that! He only recently took an interest to solids. I wish it was as easy for him to gain weight as it is for me! I have just finished my 3rd bottle (4th if you count the first one that I tossed), and just placed an order for 2 more bottles. Each one lasts us about a month. It is very difficult to get to the last 10-15 ml of oil in the bottle, I always have to dump it into a little medicine cup and use a syringe to measure the dosage. The dropper that comes with the bottle is difficult to use as it is only a 1 ml volume. I use an extra infant Advil syringe. Baby loves this and can't get enough. He will hold my hands and keep trying to suck it out of the syringe! I give this in conjunction with Zarbees multivitamin with iron and he treats these things as candy! It's amazing because both smell disgusting lol.

Considering this or the childrens' one, here is what you should know
I posted the review below for the Childrens Nordic Naturals version. But I thought it would be helpful here as well. So I am posting the review below. I know I started to have the big question of hey can I get the childrens one...and this is what I found out from having tried both and looking at the labels. We have had our adopted daughter since she was 7 months old. Not being able to breastfeed we wanted to give her as many positive dietary items as we could. Of course we could not do a controlled experiment but this has seemed to help her. She is developing well and she has no problem with taking this or the infant DHA Nordic Naturals at all. The developing great is very encouraging because she has a genetic deletion and her mom was malnourished and had no prenatal care. Our daughter was also underfed for the first 6 weeks plus of her life. It seemed she started doing more with vocalbulary and being interested in things after starting the DHA. Would she have anyway? I truly can't say. After using the infant version I was curious about the Children's version because per ounce this one is vastly better priced. So here is what I found. The label for the infant's DHA lists the amount of DHA and EPA per 4 ml (a serving size is 1 to 4 ml). The Children's DHA lists a serving size as 2.5 ml. When you correct you are getting the same amount of DHA and EPA per serving. But you get 8 ounces here as compared to 2 ounces. For way less than 4 times as much. What you are not getting is the higher levels of D3 in the infant. This one also has a strawberry taste that the infant does not. So if you are buying this for DHA and EPA, this is a much better per ounce price. I wish I had known that sooner. I suspect most people reading this review have done some research on DHA and/or EPA. If you are curious to try, I have heard nothing but good things about Nordic Naturals and as I said the Children's can save you a lot of money over the Infant. The infant we put drops in her bottle or food. This one does not come with a dropper. It also does say check with a doctor for children less than 8 months. But the infant, ironically says 1 to 4 ml a day. If you use 1 to 4 ml of this a day you would be giving your infant no more or no less EPA and DHA than you would having bought the infant one.

I bought this after much research as this was one of the only pure cod liver oil around (as opposed to fish oil). I bought it because my baby was always sick, back to back chest infections from childcare and my mum advised me to give cod liver oil to him. My baby has now been taking this cod liver oil for 7 months and I just bought his third bottle because it definitely works. My baby is sick less often, and when he does fall sick, he recovers much faster. I'm now giving my older son the kids version too and I'll keep going until they're older. With regards to taste, I was really worried that my baby will hate it because it's really fishy and I myself hate the smell, but he loves it. Since 7 months old until now, he's always happy to take this.

It has a very fishy smell and oily texture. But overall, my baby is able to take it. I will usually drop it into the milk for my kid to drink.
